Product Overview

The Crestron C2N-SDC is a 2-channel Cresnet shade and drape controller designed to control 120 VAC 3-wire bidirectional motors for motorized window treatments, projection screens, motorized doors, sunroofs, and lifts. It provides a cost-effective Cresnet-based control solution for in-wall or in-ceiling motor installations.

Product Description

The C2N-SDC integrates with any Crestron control system via the Cresnet bus. Each of its two independently controlled outputs connects to a conventional 3-wire 120V AC bidirectional motor, providing up/down or open/close commands. Built-in timing and interlock logic protect motors from conflicting commands, allowing the C2N-SDC to operate safely without additional relay hardware.

The unit mounts directly in the wall or ceiling using a standard 4-inch square or 2-gang electrical box, making it straightforward to install during new construction or renovation. Front-panel push buttons allow manual motor operation during installation and commissioning, independent of the Crestron control system. This simplifies motor setup and direction reversal testing before programming is complete.

As a Cresnet slave device, the C2N-SDC draws power from the Cresnet bus (3W) while 120V AC line power drives the motor outputs. Flying leads on the rear connect to line power, and a pair of 4-pin terminal blocks connect to the motor loads.

Key Features

  • 2 independently controlled 120V AC motor output channels
  • Supports 3-wire bidirectional motors up to 7.5A (1/3 HP) per channel, 15A total
  • Built-in timing and interlock logic for failsafe motor operation
  • Cresnet slave interface for integration with any Crestron control processor
  • Mounts in standard 4-inch square or 2-gang electrical box
  • Front-panel push buttons for manual motor operation during installation
  • Compact in-wall form factor minimizes installation footprint

Typical Applications

  • Motorized window shade and drape control in commercial conference rooms and boardrooms
  • Projection screen raise/lower control integrated into AV control systems
  • Motorized door and lift control in residential or light commercial spaces
  • Any installation requiring in-wall 120V AC bidirectional motor control on a Cresnet bus

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the C2N-SDC control 2-wire DC motors?

No. The C2N-SDC is designed specifically for 3-wire 120V AC bidirectional motors. For 24V DC 2-wire bidirectional motor control, Crestron offers the C2N-SDC-DC, which uses the same form factor and Cresnet interface. Find both models at creationnetworks.net.

Does the C2N-SDC provide position feedback for the shades?

No. The C2N-SDC is a simple up/down command controller. It does not track motor position or provide feedback. Applications requiring shade position feedback should use Crestron-compatible shade motors that support bidirectional communication protocols.

How many C2N-SDC units can be connected to a single Crestron processor?

The number of Cresnet devices on a single processor is determined by the processor's Cresnet capacity and power budget. Multiple C2N-SDC units can be connected in parallel on the Cresnet bus, subject to the processor's total Cresnet device limit and available bus power.
