Commercial building automation systems frequently require more contact closure I/O points than a single control processor provides — door contacts, window sensors, push button stations, emergency stop inputs, relay feedback inputs, and status indicator outputs can quickly exceed the native I/O count of the DIN-AP4. The DIN-IO8 expands this capacity by adding eight Versiport I/O ports — each configurable as a digital input (dry contact, TTL) or digital output (contact closure) — without requiring additional Ethernet switch ports or IP addresses. Connection via Cresnet uses the same 4-conductor bus cable as all other Cresnet devices, integrating cleanly into the DIN rail enclosure wiring alongside the DIN-AP4 and other DIN rail modules.
