Product Overview

CTS-SX20PHD2.5X-K9 is the earliest camera configuration of the Cisco TelePresence SX20 Quick Set, supplied with the 2.5x PrecisionHD camera and one microphone. Cisco offered the SX20 with a choice of PrecisionHD 2.5x, 4x or 12x cameras or the Precision 40, and the 2.5x version went end-of-sale first, on 29 April 2016, with a last date of support of 30 April 2021. That makes this an installed-base part: it exists to keep an old standardised room running or to match a fleet that was never migrated, not to specify a new room.

Product Description

Order this configuration only when the room genuinely uses the 2.5x camera. Cisco documents the Precision 40 and PrecisionHD 1080p 12X as the SX20 camera heads on its live camera data sheet and publishes no live specification page for the 2.5x head, so its zoom, field of view and cabling should be confirmed against the equipment already installed rather than assumed. The camera cable is a Cisco part in its own right and is not interchangeable across the SX20 camera options.

The rest of the platform is the familiar SX20 Quick Set: an encrypted K9 codec that drives a customer-supplied flat panel, mounts with the CTS-SX20-QS-WMK wall mount kit and runs from the PWR-60W-SX-AC 60W power supply. It registers natively to Cisco Unified Communications Manager or Cisco VCS and Expressway and interoperates with third-party H.323 gatekeepers and standards-based SIP proxies, so a legacy room stays inside the same dial plan as the rest of the estate.

Cisco has withdrawn the SX20 Quick Set data sheet from cisco.com, so SX20 bandwidth, I/O counts, power figures, dimensions and approvals are not published on any live Cisco page and are not reproduced here. Because the last date of support passed on 30 April 2021, there is no Cisco software maintenance, TAC support or service contract renewal for this configuration. When you are ready to move the room forward, see our video conference systems and Cisco collections, or small room collaboration for the current small-room platforms.

Key Features

  • Matches an original 2.5x camera room — This is the specific SX20 configuration Cisco sold with the 2.5x PrecisionHD camera, so it suits a site that must reproduce an existing room exactly.
  • Encrypted K9 codec — Cisco distinguishes its encrypted SX20 codec parts from the SX20-N no-encryption codec, so an encrypted room stays encrypted after replacement.
  • Drives a customer-supplied display — The SX20 turns an existing commercial flat panel into a video endpoint, so the screen, mount and cabling in the room can remain in place.
  • Documented mounting and power parts — CTS-SX20-QS-WMK is the published wall mount kit and PWR-60W-SX-AC the 60W power supply, so ancillaries can be sourced by exact part number.
  • Standards-based call control — Native Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco VCS registration plus third-party H.323 and SIP support keeps the endpoint usable alongside non-Cisco infrastructure.
  • Clear end-of-support position — Cisco's published end-of-sale date of 29 April 2016 and last date of support of 30 April 2021 let an asset owner plan the room's replacement with real dates rather than guesswork.

Typical Applications

  • Conference room — The SX20 Quick Set was sold to convert a conference room flat panel into a video endpoint, and this configuration matches the earliest of those installs.
  • Commercial meeting space — Sites still running original SX20 rooms can keep one matching unit available as cover while migration is planned.
  • Training room — A legacy training space with a fixed camera position and a permanently patched presentation source can be restored without redesign.
