Product Overview

The Cisco CTS-IX5000 is a complete six-seat immersive telepresence room: three 70-inch 1080p60 screens, a triple 4K UHD camera cluster, an encoder/decoder and host CPU, 19 audio drivers, 18 discrete microphones driven by a TDM unit, table tops, table-leg power and Ethernet, a lighting kit and every cable kit needed to build the room. Cisco announced end-of-life for the IX5000 Series on 25 October 2019 with end-of-sale the same day and a last date of support of 31 October 2024, and states there is no replacement product for the series, so this listing serves installed-base expansion, room-matching and estates that must keep an existing immersive standard alive.

Product Description

This is a room build rather than a rack product. It ships on pallets in numbered cartons and is assembled in place, so the room has to be qualified before the order goes in. Cisco's recommended room dimensions are 15 feet deep by 19 feet wide by 8 feet high (4572 x 5791 x 2438 mm), with a note that a depth of 13 feet 10 inches is possible but HVAC supply may be needed to cool the smaller space. The system itself stands 6 feet (1820 mm) high and Cisco strongly recommends an 8-foot ceiling.

Services planning is equally specific. Total system power is 2.19 kW, of which Cisco allocates 0.95 kW to the system and 1.0 kW to table participant devices, and three power receptacles are required in the room. Networking is one 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps Ethernet port, or two if Ethernet is taken to the table legs. Lighting should be 400 lux of indirect, even facial lighting at 4,000 Kelvin, ambient noise no more than 45 dBA SPL or NC30, and reverberation between 150 and 700 ms. HVAC is 3250 BTU for rooms smaller than the recommended size and is not required at or above it.

Call control is Cisco Unified Communications Manager 10.5, 11.0.1 or 11.5.1 and later, with Cisco TelePresence Manager 1.9.4(56) or later, Cisco TelePresence Management Suite 15.1, 15.2.1 or 15.3 or later and Cisco Meeting Server 2.1.3 or later, so the immersive room sits inside the same dial plan and scheduling system as the rest of the estate. • Eighteen discrete microphones — Per-seat pickup across the six-seat row replaces a handful of shared table pods and keeps gain structure consistent across the table.
• Published room and services requirements — Cisco publishes room dimensions, ceiling height, total power, receptacle count, lighting level and colour temperature, ambient noise and reverberation targets, so the room can be qualified before ordering.
• Power and Ethernet at every seat — Laptop connectivity units in the table legs provide six Ethernet ports and six AC outlets, so participants work from the table without floor boxes.
• Field-replaceable architecture — Displays, camera cluster, encoder, host CPU, TDM, speakers and cable kits are individually orderable, so an out-of-support room can still be maintained part by part.
