Product Overview

Cisco CS-KPRO-Z-C-K9 is the Room Kit Pro G2 in its Room Vision PTZ bundle, finished in Carbon Black: the Codec Pro G2, the Cisco Room Vision PTZ Camera and a Room Navigator on a table stand. One integration point has to be settled before this bundle is specified - Cisco states that the Room Vision PTZ bundles require an external speaker system, so amplification and loudspeakers are a separate line on the budget. In exchange the room gets a motorised camera with 60x total zoom that can be positioned away from the display and aimed where the room needs it.

Product Description

The Room Vision PTZ Camera runs 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps or 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps, with 12x optical and 5x digital zoom for 60x total, an 80.5-degree horizontal field of view, F 1.8 to 3.6 optics and focus from 1 metre to infinity. Pan is plus or minus 170 degrees and tilt runs from -25 to +90 degrees, which is what allows a ceiling position looking down into a room. PresenterTrack uses motorised pan and tilt with AI face and upper-body detection to auto-follow a presenter inside a defined zone.

Camera cabling is a genuine advantage of this bundle. Control runs over IP on the camera's own RJ-45 100/1000 Mbit port, video comes back over HDMI 2.0 or as an RTSP stream, and power is PoE+ at 42.5 to 57 V and 0.5 to 0.4 A under IEEE 802.3at Class 2 - which the codec itself can supply from one of its eight IEEE 802.3bt ports within the 120 W budget. Cisco publishes two mounting options: a wall mount for Ethernet-only installations, or a wall and ceiling mount where HDMI plus IP is used. The camera with wall mount is 6.5 x 7.88 x 8.52 inches, with the camera at 5.07 lb and the bracket at 1.54 lb.

Behind the camera, the Codec Pro G2 provides five HDMI 2.0 inputs with 5K support on four of them, USB-C and USB-A inputs, up to five video-over-IP streams over a 10 Gb multi-gigabit port, and three HDMI 2.0 outputs with 8K capability on HDMI 1. Because the room needs external audio anyway, note the two balanced line-level Euroblock outputs at up to 8 dBu into the amplifier, plus AES67 output on the PoE ports if the building runs networked audio. See large room solutions, conference audio systems for the amplification the bundle needs, and video camera hardware for additional cameras.

Key Features

  • Room Vision PTZ camera with 60x total zoom — 12x optical and 5x digital zoom with an 80.5-degree horizontal field of view reaches the far end of a large or deep room that a fixed camera cannot cover.
  • Wide pan and tilt travel — Pan of plus or minus 170 degrees and tilt from -25 to +90 degrees allow a ceiling or high wall position looking down into the room.
  • Carbon Black finish — Cisco offers the Room Vision PTZ in Arctic White or Carbon Black; the Carbon Black version disappears against dark ceilings and dark front-of-room joinery.
  • PoE+ powered camera — IEEE 802.3at Class 2 power at 42.5 to 57 V means one Ethernet run carries camera power and IP control, with the codec's own PoE ports able to supply it.
  • PresenterTrack — Motorised pan and tilt with AI face and upper-body detection auto-follows a presenter inside a defined zone, without an operator.
  • Two mounting options published — A wall mount for Ethernet-only installs, or a wall and ceiling mount where HDMI plus IP is used, so the camera position is not tied to the display.
  • Balanced line-level outputs for the external speaker system — Two 3.5 mm Euroblock outputs at up to 8 dBu feed the amplifier that Cisco states this bundle requires, and AES67 output is available over the PoE ports.
  • Eight IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ ports with a 120 W budget — The camera, digital microphones, Room Navigator and IP peripherals can all be powered from the codec within one budget.
  • Up to nine independently controlled cameras — Additional PTZ cameras can be added for multi-camera rooms and divisible spaces on the same codec.
  • 8K-capable HDMI 1 output — 7680 x 4320 at 30 fps plus 4Kp60 with HDCP 2.3 drives a premium front-of-room display without an external scaler.

Typical Applications

  • Auditorium — A PTZ camera with 60x total zoom and a ceiling-capable mount covers a deep room that a display-mounted camera cannot reach.
  • Training room — PresenterTrack follows an instructor inside a defined zone, which is Cisco's named use case for the motorised camera.
  • Boardroom — A camera positioned away from the display gives better eye-lines across a long table.
  • Multi-purpose room — Divisible-room deployments are a Cisco-named use case, and PTZ cameras can be re-aimed as the room is reconfigured.
  • All-hands room — Wide pan travel and deep zoom cover a large audience space from a single fixed camera position.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this bundle include loudspeakers?

No. Cisco states that the Room Vision PTZ bundles require an external speaker system, so amplification and loudspeakers must be specified separately. The codec provides two balanced line-level 3.5 mm Euroblock outputs at up to 8 dBu, three HDMI outputs and AES67 output over its PoE ports to feed them.

How is the Room Vision PTZ camera cabled and powered?

Camera control runs over IP on the camera's RJ-45 100/1000 Mbit port and video returns over HDMI 2.0 or RTSP. Power is PoE+ at 42.5 to 57 V and 0.5 to 0.4 A under IEEE 802.3at Class 2, which the codec's own IEEE 802.3bt ports can supply within their 120 W budget.

Does the Room Kit Pro G2 work with Microsoft Teams Rooms?

Yes. Cisco lists Microsoft Teams Rooms among the supported platforms and states the system is MDEP certified. The same hardware also runs Webex, Zoom for Cisco Rooms, H.323, SIP and WebRTC, so the platform decision can be made or changed after purchase.

What call control does it register to?

Cisco publishes support for Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom for Cisco Rooms, Cisco Expressway and Cisco Unified Communications Manager v15 SU4 or later, plus standards-based H.323, SIP and WebRTC. Firewall traversal uses Cisco Expressway with H.460.18 and H.460.19.

How are microphones and peripherals powered?

The Codec Pro G2 has eight IEEE 802.3bt PoE, PoE+ and PoE++ RJ-45 ports with a 120 W total budget, so digital microphones, Room Navigators and IP peripherals are powered from the codec itself. There are also four 48V phantom-powered 3.5 mm Euroblock analog microphone inputs rated to a maximum 18 dBu.

What software version is required?

Cisco states a minimum of RoomOS 26.5. Plan the software floor into any staged rollout where older codecs are being replaced one room at a time.

How does a guest laptop join a meeting in the room?

USB-C passthrough runs at USB 3.2 Gen 1 up to 5 Gbps with up to 15 W power delivery and carries the room camera, microphones, speakers and content sharing over a single cable, so a visitor can use their own conferencing client with the room hardware.

What warranty applies?

Cisco publishes a 1-year limited liability warranty for this product. Warranty and support are handled per Cisco's standard terms for this product class - contact Creation Networks to confirm coverage and any service attach for your order.
