Product Overview

Cisco Room Kit EQX arrives as one assembly rather than a set of components, and CS-KIT-EQX-K9-- is that system in First Light, ordered as a customized model. Inside the 2800 mm main module sit a Cisco Codec EQ, an integrated Quad Camera, the Natural Audio Module IV amplifier, six coaxial loudspeakers and a folded bass horn, pre-cabled at the factory. Cisco designs it for medium-to-large meeting rooms and collaboration spaces, and publishes the loudspeaker system at a maximum 105 dB SPL across 45 Hz to 20 kHz. Displays are not included: the main module accepts two screens from 65 in. to 75 in., with a third extra screen supported.

Product Description

The commercial argument for an EQX over a component build is install time and repeatability. Because the codec, camera, amplifier and loudspeakers are already assembled and internally cabled, the site work reduces to fixing the module, hanging two displays and terminating the network and microphone runs. On a multi-site programme, ordering that as a customized model keeps every location on one agreed specification.

Audio is the part that separates this system from a camera bar. Six coaxial speakers plus a compact folded bass horn, driven by the 16-channel Natural Audio Module IV amplifier with Euroblock outputs rated at a maximum 25W into 8 ohm per channel at 0.1% THD and 200W total, produce directional audio that follows where the active remote speaker appears on screen. The amplifier also exposes four analog Euroblock line inputs at up to 24 dBu with 106 dB SNR, which is how a house source is brought into the system.

Display selection is constrained and should be settled early. Two screens from 65 in. to 75 in. mount on the main module using 2 x VESA with 400 vertical and 400-600 horizontal adjustment, at up to 50 kg per screen on the wall-mount and wall-stand versions or 42 kg on the floor stand, with a maximum thickness of 75 mm and a recommended minimum resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps. Each screen requires its own power outlet. Choose commercial displays against those figures before the mounting version is fixed.

The system ships as an integrated video conferencing system including the Cisco Codec EQ, the integrated Cisco Quad Camera, the Cisco Natural Audio Module IV amplifier, six loudspeakers, one bass unit, a Cisco Room Navigator (Table Stand, First Light), the mounting unit, power adapters, a 12 m Ethernet cable for the Room Navigator and the internal cabling between the default components. Cisco publishes power consumption of 150.9W in call, 68.8W idle, 67.9W half wake and 61.5W standby, with office-hours mode available to force standby outside working hours. RoomOS 11.9.2 or later is required, and registration covers Webex, Cisco Unified CM 12.5 or later with the Room Kit EQ/EQX device pack, Cisco Expressway and Microsoft Teams Rooms. Cisco describes the system as designed for medium-to-large meeting rooms and collaboration spaces and publishes no seat count, so capacity should be judged from sightlines and microphone coverage. See meeting room bundles for comparable systems.

Key Features

  • Integrated dual-screen assembly — Codec, camera, amplifier, six loudspeakers and a bass unit arrive as one factory-assembled module with internal cabling, so the room build reduces to mounting the assembly and hanging two displays.
  • First Light finish, customized model — Cisco publishes the Wall Mount Version in First Light and Carbon Black; the -- designation marks a customized model, which keeps a multi-site rollout on one agreed configuration.
  • Spatial audio that follows the speaker on screen — Six coaxial speakers plus a folded bass horn and a dedicated amplifier deliver directional audio reaching 105 dB SPL with a 45 Hz to 20 kHz response.
  • Natural Audio Module IV as an audio platform — The 16-channel amplifier exposes four analog Euroblock line inputs at up to 24 dBu and speaker outputs rated 25W into 8 ohm per channel at 0.1% THD, with 200W total output power.
  • Defined screen envelope — Cisco publishes exact screen constraints - 65 in. to 75 in. on the main module, VESA 400 vertical with 400-600 horizontal adjustment, up to 50 kg per screen wall-mounted or 42 kg on the floor stand, and 75 mm maximum thickness.
  • Third display support — Two of the three HDMI 2.0 outputs feed the screens on the main module and the third supports an extra display for content or a divisible-room feed.
  • Three mounting versions — Wall-mount, wall-stand and floor-stand versions are published with their own dimensions and screen weight limits, so the system fits rooms with or without suitable wall structure.
  • Office hours power scheduling — Published consumption of 150.9W in call, 68.8W idle and 61.5W standby can be reduced with office-hours mode, which forces standby outside working hours and half-wake at the start of the day.
  • AES67 and up to eight IP microphones — Audio over IP on the PoE++ ports supports up to eight Cisco IP microphone units or third-party AES67 microphones, with more than three requiring the AV Integrator license.

Typical Applications

  • Boardroom — a factory-assembled dual-screen system with directional audio suits a flagship executive space.
  • Large conference room — six loudspeakers and a bass unit at up to 105 dB SPL cover a substantial room without separate reinforcement.
  • All-hands room — directional audio that follows the active speaker on screen suits large presentation spaces.
  • Multi-purpose room — a third HDMI output supports a divisible-room or overflow feed alongside the two main screens.
  • Training room — the integrated camera with Frames mode gives remote attendees an equitable view of participants.
