Product Overview
Where a secure site is fitting out desk positions in tranches, the CS-DESKP-NR-C-UK9 is the line item that matches: a Cisco Desk Pro G2 standalone unit in Carbon Black with no wireless radio fitted. Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available on non-radio versions, so the endpoint operates entirely over its RJ-45 connection, and the standalone-unit form keeps accessories out of a bill of materials that has already been agreed. The device itself is the full-specification Desk Pro G2, with a 27-inch 4K touch panel and a dual-lens camera covering both a single desk and a group of up to five. It remains a current product with no end-of-sale notice, which matters when an accredited configuration has to be repeatable for years.
Product Description
Accredited estates rarely deploy in one pass. Positions are surveyed, cabled and accepted in batches, and each batch has to receive hardware identical to the one that was assessed. A unit-only, no-radio part number is the cleanest way to hold that standard, because it removes both the variable accessory content and the radio that would otherwise have to be justified in every survey.
The wired path does all the work. An internal two-port Cisco Ethernet switch on 10/100/1000BASE-T carries the endpoint and a co-located workstation on one termination, USB-C BYOD provides 4K60 display extension, touch forwarding, camera and audio passthrough and 80 W laptop charging over a single cable, and an HDMI 2.0 type A input at 4Kp60 handles a local source. With Bluetooth absent, headsets must be wired USB rather than paired.
Call control can be kept entirely on-premises, since Cisco documents native registration to Unified Communications Manager 14 or later with the Desk Pro G2 device pack and to Expressway, alongside Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom for Cisco Rooms for sites that do use a cloud service. Power is external at 62 W typical in call through CS-PWR-CUBE-7=. Teams extending the same standard into shared rooms will find the equivalent room hardware in the small room collaboration and video conference systems ranges of the Cisco collaboration portfolio.
Key Features
- No-radio standalone unit — This SKU combines Cisco's standalone unit ordering form with the no-radio build, so a phased secure rollout can repeat one line item without accessory or radio variation.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth not fitted — Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available on non-radio versions, so the endpoint presents no wireless interface for a site survey to assess.
- Internal two-port Ethernet switch — The built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T switch gives a co-located PC network access through the endpoint, so each desk position needs only one structured cabling drop.
- Single-cable laptop docking — One USB-C cable carries 4K60 display extension, touch forwarding, camera, microphone and speaker passthrough and 80 W of laptop charging, and Cisco states a cable supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and 100 W charging or better is required for best performance.
- HDMI 4K input for wired sources — An HDMI 2.0 type A input accepts a local source at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps, so a guest laptop or a room PC can present without joining the call.
- Dual-lens camera system — A 48MP 70-degree telelens and a 14.5MP 105-degree wide-angle lens, both with phase detection autofocus and backed by 2x optical and 5x digital zoom, let one unit frame a single person at a desk or a group of up to five.
- 27-inch 4K touch display — The 3840 x 2160 panel runs at 350 cd/m2 with 2000:1 contrast, 10-bit colour and 98% DCI-P3 coverage, which is enough colour accuracy for the device to serve as the user's primary monitor rather than a second screen.
- On-premises call control — Native registration to Cisco Unified Communications Manager 14 or later with the Desk Pro G2 device pack, and to Expressway, allows the endpoint to join an existing on-premises estate instead of a cloud-only deployment.
Typical Applications
- Government space — phased fit-out of accredited desk positions that must not carry a wireless radio.
- Commercial meeting space — corporate floors under a no-wireless policy being converted a tranche at a time.
- Huddle room — small wired-only rooms added after the initial project, covering up to five people.
- Multi-purpose room — reconfigured spaces where only the endpoint is being supplied against an existing standard.
