Product Overview

Two procurement constraints meet in the CS-DESKP-NR-C-K9++: the ++ suffix marks it TAA for U.S. Government, and the NR designator means no wireless radio is fitted. That combination is what a defence programme, an intelligence-community site or a federal facility with an RF restriction actually has to order, because a TAA unit with a live Wi-Fi 6E radio will not pass the site survey and a no-radio commercial unit will not pass the contract review. The underlying device is the Carbon Black Cisco Desk Pro G2, with a 27-inch 4K touch panel and a dual-lens 48MP telelens and 105-degree wide-angle camera system. Cisco publishes no end-of-sale notice for the Desk Pro G2, so this build supports a long-horizon accredited estate.

Product Description

Order this part number when both conditions apply and do not attempt to satisfy them separately. Disabling Wi-Fi in software on a radio-equipped SKU does not remove the radio and will not satisfy an accreditation authority that inspects the hardware, and a no-radio commercial SKU carries no TAA designation on the purchase order. Cisco publishes the combined build precisely so that a single line item covers both.

Because the radio is absent, the endpoint is wired-only: Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available on non-radio versions, and Miracast and the forthcoming AirPlay sharing are listed as unavailable on that build. The internal two-port Cisco Ethernet switch on 10/100/1000BASE-T remains, so the endpoint and a co-located workstation share one accredited RJ-45 drop, which reduces the number of ports that have to be surveyed and documented.

The user experience at the desk is otherwise the full Desk Pro G2: one USB-C cable for 4K60 display extension, touch forwarding, camera and audio passthrough to any client and 80 W laptop charging, plus an HDMI 2.0 type A input at 4Kp60 for a local source. Call control can stay on-premises through Unified CM 14 or later with the Desk Pro G2 device pack, or Expressway, which matters where cloud registration is not an option. Programmes fitting out matching restricted meeting rooms should review the video conference systems and small room collaboration ranges alongside the Cisco collaboration portfolio.

Treat AV1, the HDMI output, the 4K 30 fps content stream, AirPlay and deep sleep as roadmap items rather than delivered capability, since Cisco publishes them as coming soon.

Key Features

  • TAA and no-radio in one SKU — The ++ designator is Cisco's TAA for U.S. Government marking and NR removes the wireless radio, so a single line item satisfies both a federal procurement clause and a site RF restriction.
  • No Wi-Fi or Bluetooth fitted — Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available on non-radio versions, which removes the hardware an accreditation authority would otherwise have to assess.
  • Internal two-port Ethernet switch — The built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T switch gives a co-located PC network access through the endpoint, so each desk position needs only one structured cabling drop.
  • Dual-lens camera system — A 48MP 70-degree telelens and a 14.5MP 105-degree wide-angle lens, both with phase detection autofocus and backed by 2x optical and 5x digital zoom, let one unit frame a single person at a desk or a group of up to five.
  • 27-inch 4K touch display — The 3840 x 2160 panel runs at 350 cd/m2 with 2000:1 contrast, 10-bit colour and 98% DCI-P3 coverage, which is enough colour accuracy for the device to serve as the user's primary monitor rather than a second screen.
  • On-premises call control — Native registration to Cisco Unified Communications Manager 14 or later with the Desk Pro G2 device pack, and to Expressway, allows the endpoint to join an existing on-premises estate instead of a cloud-only deployment.
  • Single-cable laptop docking — One USB-C cable carries 4K60 display extension, touch forwarding, camera, microphone and speaker passthrough and 80 W of laptop charging, and Cisco states a cable supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and 100 W charging or better is required for best performance.
  • HDMI 4K input for wired sources — An HDMI 2.0 type A input accepts a local source at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps, so a guest laptop or a room PC can present without joining the call.

Typical Applications

  • Government space — accredited federal facilities where the contract requires TAA hardware and the site prohibits an active radio.
  • Commercial meeting space — defence contractors running mixed programme and corporate sites on a single approved part number.
  • Huddle room — small restricted rooms needing coverage for up to five people without any wireless capability in the space.
  • Training room — classified instruction positions where the endpoint must be wired and TAA documented.
