Product Overview
The CS-DESKP-C-K9 is the Carbon Black Cisco Desk Pro G2, a 27-inch 4K all-in-one endpoint that Cisco positions for executives and for groups of up to five people. Its dual-lens camera pairs a 48MP 70-degree telelens with a 14.5MP 105-degree wide-angle lens, so the same unit frames one person at a desk or a small huddle group without a separate camera. Cisco lists no end-of-sale notice for the Desk Pro G2 and names it as the migration product for both the first-generation Desk Pro and the Desk Mini, which makes this the base part number for a new desktop standard. Registration covers Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom for Cisco Rooms, SIP and H.323, with native Unified CM 14 or later support for on-premises estates.
Product Description
Cisco designed the Desk Pro G2 as a single-cable workstation rather than a meeting appliance that happens to sit on a desk. One USB-C connection extends the laptop display at 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps, forwards touch on supported operating systems, passes the camera, microphone and speakers to any software client, and charges the laptop at up to 80 W. Rear USB-C and USB-A docking ports keep a keyboard, mouse and storage attached to the desk instead of the laptop, so a hot-desk user connects one cable and starts working.
For the integrator, the cabling story is the reason this part number wins floor-plate standardisation arguments. An internal two-port Cisco Ethernet switch on 10/100/1000BASE-T gives a co-located PC network access through the endpoint, so each position needs a single RJ-45 drop, and Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax including Wi-Fi 6E covers desks that never received one. The device is not PoE-powered: it takes the external CS-PWR-CUBE-7= adapter and draws 62 W typical in call, so a switched mains outlet has to be in the desk design. Where a floor is being standardised, compare it against the rest of the video conference systems range and the wider Cisco collaboration portfolio before committing.
An HDMI 2.0 type A input accepts a local source at up to 4Kp60, which covers collaboration and presentation workflows where a guest laptop or room PC must appear on screen without joining a call. The supplied desk stand tilts; where the desk layout calls for an arm or wall position, the CS-DESKP-VESA-C= VESA and wall mount kit is ordered separately alongside other display mounts. One caution when writing the specification: Cisco marks the HDMI output, the 4K 30 fps content stream, AV1 and Apple AirPlay as coming soon, so those capabilities should not be committed to a design that has to work on handover day.
Key Features
- Dual-lens camera system — A 48MP 70-degree telelens and a 14.5MP 105-degree wide-angle lens, both with phase detection autofocus and backed by 2x optical and 5x digital zoom, let one unit frame a single person at a desk or a group of up to five.
- 27-inch 4K touch display — The 3840 x 2160 panel runs at 350 cd/m2 with 2000:1 contrast, 10-bit colour and 98% DCI-P3 coverage, which is enough colour accuracy for the device to serve as the user's primary monitor rather than a second screen.
- Single-cable laptop docking — One USB-C cable carries 4K60 display extension, touch forwarding, camera, microphone and speaker passthrough and 80 W of laptop charging, and Cisco states a cable supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and 100 W charging or better is required for best performance.
- Internal two-port Ethernet switch — The built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T switch gives a co-located PC network access through the endpoint, so each desk position needs only one structured cabling drop.
- Multi-platform registration — Cisco lists Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom for Cisco Rooms, H.323, SIP, WebRTC and BYOM over USB-C passthrough, so a single SKU suits estates standardised on any of the major call-control platforms.
- On-premises call control — Native registration to Cisco Unified Communications Manager 14 or later with the Desk Pro G2 device pack, and to Expressway, allows the endpoint to join an existing on-premises estate instead of a cloud-only deployment.
- Directional three-channel audio — Left, centre and right channels with mechanically balanced dual woofers reach down to 45 Hz, and an eight-element beamforming array with AI-powered noise removal handles speech pickup at desk distance.
- Current shipping generation — Cisco lists no end-of-sale or end-of-life notice for the Desk Pro G2 and names it as the migration product for both the first-generation Desk Pro and the Desk Mini, so the platform has a full support runway ahead of it.
Typical Applications
- Executive workspace — Cisco positions the Desk Pro G2 for executives and leaders, and the 27-inch 4K panel doubles as the primary monitor on that desk.
- Huddle room — the 105-degree wide-angle lens and automatic framing cover groups of up to five people in a space too small for a video bar and display.
- Commercial meeting space — a single RJ-45 drop and one power outlet make it straightforward to add to an existing desk or small meeting position.
- Multi-purpose room — the HDMI input and USB-C passthrough let the same unit serve as a presentation screen between calls.
