Two separate approvals have to be satisfied before an endpoint enters an accredited federal workspace, and CS-DESK-NR-K9++ satisfies both in one line item: ++ is Cisco's TAA for U.S. Government designation, and NR is the no-radio build in which Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available. That makes the unit wired-only, which is normally the condition of entry to a shielded or RF-restricted area, while the compliance marking keeps the contracting officer satisfied. Physically it is the standard First Light Cisco Desk, a 24-inch interactive 1080p endpoint with an 8MP camera and a four-microphone array. The Cisco Desk remains a current product.

Disabling Wi-Fi in software does not solve this problem. An accreditation authority that inspects hardware wants the radio absent, not switched off, and a no-radio commercial SKU carries no TAA marking for the contract file. Cisco publishes the combined build so a single part number covers both requirements without a waiver.

With the radio gone, everything arrives over the wired connection and the USB-C cable. A single USB-C lead still extends the laptop display at 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps, redirects touch on supported operating systems and exposes the camera, microphone and speakers to any software client; an HDMI 2.0 type A input accepts a local source at up to 1080p60. Headsets should be specified as wired USB at the type-A port, since Bluetooth pairing is not available on this build.

Power and mounting are the same as any Cisco Desk: an external PSU-12VDC-70W-GR supply at 70 W maximum rather than PoE, a desk stand in the box, and CS-DESK-WALL= or CS-DESK-VESA= for wall and arm positions. Why order a combined TAA and no-radio SKU?

Because two different authorities have to be satisfied. The ++ designation covers the Trade Agreements Act flow-down in the contract; the absent radio covers the site security requirement. A software Wi-Fi disable on a radio-equipped unit does not remove the hardware, and a no-radio commercial SKU carries no TAA marking.

What is lost on the no-radio build?

Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available on non-radio versions. In practice that means no wireless network association and no Bluetooth headset pairing. The wired network connection, HDMI input, USB-C docking and USB headset support are unaffected.
