Product Overview

Facilities that prohibit wireless radios in meeting spaces specify the Cisco Codec Pro G2 as CS-CPRO-NR-K9. The non-radio version omits the Wi-Fi 6 / 6E radio while keeping the full wired feature set of the second-generation Pro codec: five HDMI 2.0 inputs, three HDMI 2.0 outputs, four phantom-powered Euroblock microphone inputs, a multi-gigabit IP peripheral port and eight IEEE 802.3bt PoE ports sharing a 120 W budget. That makes it the practical choice for SCIFs, defence sites, RF-restricted clinical areas and any organisation whose security policy bars unmanaged radios from a room system. Codec Pro G2 is a current product with no Cisco end-of-sale bulletin.

Product Description

Removing the radio changes how the room is cabled rather than what it can do. Every peripheral on a CS-CPRO-NR-K9 build reaches the codec over copper: eight PoE / PoE+ / PoE++ ports carry digital microphones, Room Navigators and IP cameras within a 120 W budget, a multi-gigabit port up to 10 Gb carries video over IP, and the RJ-45 LAN port handles call signalling. For a secure facility this is an advantage during accreditation, because the room's entire communication path is physically inspectable.

What a no-radio unit gives up is the wireless convenience layer. Wireless content sharing that depends on the radio is not available on a non-radio codec, so a room design should plan wired presentation paths: five HDMI 2.0 inputs at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps with 5120 x 2160 at 30 fps on HDMI 1 to 4, HDCP 2.3 on HDMI 4, a USB-C DisplayPort Alt-mode input to 5120 x 2160 at 30 fps, and USB-C passthrough at 5 Gbps with 15 W power delivery that hands a guest laptop the room camera, microphones and speakers over one cable.

Audio integration is unchanged. Four 48V phantom-powered 3.5 mm Euroblock inputs rated to a maximum 18 dBu take ceiling arrays or gooseneck microphones, two balanced line-level Euroblock outputs at up to 8 dBu feed an external amplifier or DSP, and AES67 runs in and out across the PoE ports at eight streams of eight channels. Rooms with existing conference audio systems can therefore keep their DSP and use the codec as the conferencing endpoint only.

Display output is three HDMI 2.0 ports with CEC 2.0, HDMI 1 reaching 7680 x 4320 at 30 fps and 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps with HDCP 2.3. The 16.9 x 2.6 x 9.9 in., 6.2 lb chassis mounts on a wall, on rack ears or free-standing, and a 4-pin Euroblock GPIO port supplies 12V at up to 0.7 A for door interlocks, screen lifts and partition sensors. Cisco requires RoomOS 26.5 or later and lists registration to Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom for Cisco Rooms, Cisco Expressway and Cisco Unified CM v15 SU4 or later.
