Cisco Codec Pro G2 CS-CPRO-K9 is the standalone second-generation Pro-class codec for integrator-led room builds, sold as the codec only so the cameras, displays and microphones are specified separately. It drives three HDMI 2.0 outputs, accepts five HDMI inputs plus USB-C and USB-A sources, and carries eight IEEE 802.3bt PoE ports with a 120 W budget for digital microphones and IP peripherals. Cisco positions the platform for high-impact spaces including large conference rooms, multi-camera spaces, training rooms, boardrooms and divisible-room deployments, and names it as the migration product for the end-of-sale Codec Pro. This is a current product with no Cisco end-of-sale bulletin published.
Product Description
Specified as the engine of a custom room, CS-CPRO-K9 gives an AV designer more I/O than the codec it replaces. Five HDMI 2.0 inputs accept up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps, with HDMI 1 to 4 also handling 5120 x 2160 at 30 fps and HDMI 4 supporting HDCP 2.3 for protected sources. A USB-C DisplayPort Alt-mode input reaches 5120 x 2160 at 30 fps and a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2x1 input reaches 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps, so laptop and appliance feeds land on the codec without an outboard scaler.
Display output is three HDMI 2.0 ports with CEC 2.0. HDMI 1 supports 7680 x 4320 at 30 fps and 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps with HDCP 2.3, HDMI 2 supports 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps with HDCP 2.3, and HDMI 3 supports 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps, which covers a dual-display front of room plus a dedicated content screen. Audio is built for integration rather than a fixed bundle: four 48V phantom-powered Euroblock microphone inputs rated to 18 dBu, two balanced line-level Euroblock outputs at up to 8 dBu, embedded audio on all HDMI ports with Audio Return Channel on HDMI 1, and AES67 in and out across the PoE ports at eight streams of eight channels.
Network design is where the G2 differs most from earlier Pro-class hardware. One RJ-45 LAN port is joined by a multi-gigabit peripheral port running up to 10 Gb and eight PoE / PoE+ / PoE++ ports sharing 120 W, which lets an integrator run cameras, microphones and control surfaces over structured cabling instead of long HDMI and analog runs. A 4-pin Euroblock GPIO port supplying 12V at up to 0.7 A with an open-drain output sinking up to 1 A gives a documented hardware hook for screen lifts, partition sensors and room control hardware.
The chassis measures 16.9 x 2.6 x 9.9 in. at 6.2 lb and mounts on a wall, in a rack with rack ears, or free-standing. RoomOS 26.5 or later is required, and the codec registers to Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom for Cisco Rooms, Cisco Expressway or Cisco Unified CM v15 SU4 or later.
