Product Overview

Cisco uses component-level part numbers for hardware that ships inside a larger configured order, and CS-CODEC-PRO-NR+ is one of them: the distributor lists it as Codec Pro for Auto Expand, No-Radio, with no separate list price. Cisco publishes no general definition of the + suffix, but it appears on component-level entries of this kind. The codec itself is end-of-sale: Cisco set the End-of-Sale Date at May 19, 2026 and the Last Ship Date at August 17, 2026, with a Last Date of Support of May 31, 2031, and names Codec Pro G2 as the migration product.

Product Description

Estates reconciling older purchase records frequently meet entries like this one and have to work out what was actually installed. The two attributes worth extracting here are the no-radio build, which tells you the room has no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and was designed around wired presentation, and the Codec Pro platform itself, which sets the room's display, camera and microphone capability.

Codec Pro drives three HDMI outputs, two at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps and one at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps, with triple-screen support on RoomOS. It accepts six simultaneous video inputs: two HDMI up to 1080p60, three HDMI up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps and one 3G-SDI/HD-SDI up to 1080p60, with EDID and CEC 2.0. Bandwidth reaches 20 Mbps, and the MultiSite option adds five-way embedded SIP/H.323 conferencing with full transcoding.

Audio capability is the reason many of these rooms were built on Codec Pro rather than a video bar: eight Euroblock microphone inputs with 48V phantom power, six balanced line-level Euroblock outputs, up to eight IP microphones over PoE, AES67 support, eight separate acoustic echo cancellers, an eight-port mixer and eight assignable equalizers. Cameras Cisco documents with the codec are the Quad Camera, PTZ 4K and Precision 60; browse camera hardware when planning a like-for-like repair.

Cisco published the End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco Codec Pro and Room Kit Pro on February 16, 2026, with an End-of-Sale Date of May 19, 2026 and a Last Ship Date of August 17, 2026. Cisco's Last Date of Support is May 31, 2031, End of Software Maintenance Releases is May 18, 2028 and End of Service Contract Renewal is August 14, 2030. Cisco names CS-CPRO-K9, CS-CPRO-K9++ and CS-CPRO-NR-K9 (Codec Pro G2) as the migration products. Since the G2 carries different I/O and a different PoE budget, a migration should be treated as a design review. See large room solutions for current platform options. The chassis is 17.1 x 2.6 x 9.1 in., 7.3 lb and 1.5 RU, mounting on a wall, on rack ears or free-standing.

Key Features

  • Component-level part number — Cisco publishes no general definition of the + suffix, which appears on component-level entries such as this Auto Expand line rather than on standalone purchases.
  • No Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio — Cisco states Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not available on non-radio versions, which is what secure facilities and RF-restricted sites require from a room codec.
  • Six simultaneous video inputs — The codec accepts six video sources at once, five HDMI plus one 3G-SDI/HD-SDI, so an integrator can wire cameras, a document camera and multiple laptop or room PC feeds without an external switcher.
  • Three HDMI outputs with triple-screen support — Two 4Kp60 outputs and one 4Kp30 output allow a dual-display video wall plus a dedicated content display to be driven directly from the codec on RoomOS.
  • Eight analog microphone inputs with 48V phantom power — Euroblock inputs that also accept balanced line level let the codec take ceiling arrays, gooseneck microphones or a house audio feed without an outboard DSP in many rooms.
  • Six balanced line-level outputs — Euroblock outputs feed an external amplifier or DSP, so the codec integrates into an existing room reinforcement system.
  • AES67 and IP microphone support — Up to eight IP microphones over PoE and AES67 audio networking let integrators run audio over the same structured cabling as the network.
  • Eight acoustic echo cancellers and an eight-port mixer — Independent echo cancellation per input keeps far-end audio clean in rooms with many distributed microphones.
  • Two PoE camera-control ports plus two PoE peripheral ports — The codec powers and controls a Room Navigator and additional IP peripherals directly, reducing the number of local power supplies in the rack.
