Product Overview

Two procurement constraints usually arrive together in government work: the part has to be TAA compliant, and the room cannot contain a wireless emitter. CS-BRDP55-NR-K9++ satisfies both in a single Cisco ordering SKU.

Cisco lists this part in the Board Pro 55 G2 main-unit ordering table as the no-radio TAA variant, with Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.2 not available on the No-Radio model.

That combination is what makes it the standard specification for secure federal spaces, contractor facilities handling classified work and any accredited room where the equipment list is fixed.

Capability is otherwise the full G2 board: a 55-inch 4K UHD touch panel, dual 48 MP camera sensors, a 14-element beamforming microphone array and integrated multi-channel loudspeakers.

Product Description

In an accredited space the equipment list is part of the approval, so the specification work happens before purchase rather than during install. Ordering the NR TAA part avoids the situation where a compliant board arrives with radios that have to be justified, disabled or, in practice, sent back.

The board becomes a wired device. A single 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN port carries it, authenticated with 802.1X using either a passphrase or an X.509 client certificate, on an 802.1Q VLAN with 802.1p QoS/CoS marking. Cisco documents secure management over HTTPS and SSH, and media encryption using SRTP with AES-128-GCM or AES-256-GCM.

Content sharing has to be wired as well. USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode at 4Kp60 with up to 60 W power delivery is the single-cable path for a laptop, and an HDCP-compatible HDMI 2.0 type A input at 4Kp60 covers fixed sources. Two HDMI 2.0 type A outputs at 4Kp60 are available for a repeat screen.

Call control for a closed network is on-premises: Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.5(1) or later, or Cisco Expressway, with third-party H.323 gatekeepers and standards-based SIP proxies also documented. Minimum software is RoomOS 11.15.

For the room itself, plan a 40 kg board on the published mounting set, and the 802.3af PoE port with a 15.4 W budget for the Cisco Room Navigator so the control surface needs no separate power at the table. Related compliant equipment is listed in our Cisco range, touch endpoints in interactive displays and control surfaces in device and room control.

Key Features

  • TAA compliance and no-radio in one SKU — Cisco publishes CS-BRDP55-NR-K9++ as a single ordering variant, so a secure federal room does not need a special configuration request.
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth not fitted — Cisco lists Wi-Fi 6/6E as not available in non-radio versions and Bluetooth 5.2 as not available on the No-Radio model.
  • Wired-only network attachment — The endpoint runs on a 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN port with 802.1X authentication by passphrase or X.509 client certificate.
  • Documented media encryption — SRTP using AES-128-GCM or AES-256-GCM, and H.235 v3 with AES-128 or AES-256, are published for this platform.
  • Dual 48 MP camera system — Two 48 MP image sensors feed a 70-degree main lens and a 112-degree wide lens with automatic best view, speaker tracking and Frames framing on the device.
  • Closed-network registration — Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.5(1) or later, or Cisco Expressway, allow the room to operate with no cloud dependency.
  • Single-cable wired BYOD — USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode at 4Kp60 with 60 W power delivery replaces wireless sharing in a room where radios are not permitted.

Typical Applications

  • Government space — Accredited federal rooms and SCIF-style environments accept a wired-only, TAA-compliant endpoint without a waiver.
  • Conference room — Secure conference rooms in agency and contractor facilities run the same build across sites.
  • Training room — Classified or controlled training spaces keep a consistent equipment list.
  • Multi-purpose room — Rooms specified to the stricter standard remain usable for every category of meeting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do the NR and ++ suffixes mean together?

NR is the no-radio build, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth not available, and ++ is the TAA-compliant ordering variant. Cisco lists CS-BRDP55-NR-K9++ as a single part number combining both.

Can users still share content wirelessly?

Wireless sharing methods that rely on the device radios are not available on a no-radio unit. Wired sharing over USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode at 4Kp60 and HDMI 2.0 type A at 4Kp60 works normally.

How is the board authenticated onto a government network?

Cisco documents 802.1X network authentication using either a passphrase or an X.509 client certificate, with 802.1Q VLAN and 802.1p QoS/CoS.

Does it need a connection to Webex to operate?

No. Native on-premises registration to Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.5(1) or later, or Cisco Expressway, is documented, as are third-party H.323 gatekeepers and standards-based SIP proxies.

How is the touch controller powered?

From the board's 802.3af PoE Ethernet port with a 15.4 W power budget, which powers and pairs a Cisco Room Navigator without a separate injector.

What is the minimum software version?

RoomOS 11.15 or later for the Board Pro 55 G2.

What warranty applies?

Cisco publishes a 90-day limited liability warranty for this product class. Warranty is handled per Cisco's standard terms; contact Creation Networks to confirm coverage for your order.
