Product Overview

Some buildings do not allow a new radio on the wall, whatever the business case. CS-BRDP55-NR-K9 is the Cisco Board Pro 55 G2 built for those buildings, with Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.2 not fitted.

It is a commercial part number rather than a federal one, which makes it the usual choice for hospitals, laboratories, RF-sensitive industrial sites and corporate security zones that restrict wireless emitters without operating under TAA rules.

What the room loses is wireless attachment and wireless pairing. What it keeps is the full G2 platform: a 55-inch 4K UHD multi-touch panel, dual 48 MP camera sensors, a 14-element beamforming microphone array and integrated loudspeakers.

Product Description

The design consequence of a no-radio board is that every path into it is a cable, so the room needs to be surveyed for that before the order is placed. One 10/100/1000 Ethernet drop at the wall position carries the endpoint, and there is no fallback to a wireless network during commissioning.

Content sharing follows the same rule. A USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode connection at 4Kp60 with up to 60 W power delivery is the single-cable option for a laptop, and an HDCP-compatible HDMI 2.0 type A input at 4Kp60 covers a fixed source such as a room PC. Two HDMI 2.0 type A outputs at 4Kp60 are available if a repeat display is needed.

The Cisco Room Navigator is unaffected because it was never wireless: the board's own 802.3af PoE Ethernet port supplies it with a 15.4 W budget, powering and pairing the controller over the same cable. A third Ethernet port handles external camera control, and a separate audio-over-IP port extends microphone pickup.

Meeting behaviour does not change. The dual 48 MP camera system runs automatic best view, speaker tracking, Frames multi-participant framing, meeting zone support and 5x digital zoom on the device, and the microphone array is optimised to 4 metres (13 ft) as Cisco states for this generation.

Registration options are complete: Webex activation, Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.5(1) or later or Cisco Expressway on-premises, third-party H.323 gatekeepers and SIP proxies, and Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android, from RoomOS 11.15.

For rooms where the RF restriction applies to the whole floor, it is worth reviewing the rest of the wired estate in video conference systems and the touch endpoint options in interactive displays.
