Product Overview

The ND build exists so that a policy decision survives a hardware failure. CS-BRDP55-G3-NDK9= is the no-radar Cisco Board Pro 55 G3, supplied as a service unit for a room that was specified without presence detection.

Cisco lists CS-BRDP55-G3-NDK9 among the Board Pro 55 G3 main units, and the trailing equals sign on this part number designates the spare.

ND covers the radar only. Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.2 remain on this build, which separates it from the NR no-radio spares.

Everything else is the current generation: an ADS LCD panel at 1:1200 contrast, dual 48 MP camera sensors and audio over IP for up to eight Cisco IP conferencing microphones.

Product Description

Presence sensing is the kind of capability that gets agreed away in writing and then quietly reappears through a replacement part. Holding the ND spare is the simplest way to make sure the commitment holds through the life of the room.

The user experience does not change after the swap. Because the radios are retained, wireless sharing remains available: Cisco documents Webex app sharing at up to 3840 x 2160 at 7.5 fps, Miracast at up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps, Apple AirPlay screen mirroring at up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps and Microsoft Teams Cast at up to 1920 x 1080 at 15 fps for Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Wired paths are unchanged too: USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode at 4Kp60, an HDCP-compatible HDMI 2.0 type A input at 4Kp30 and one HDMI 2.0 type A output at 4Kp60, with two analog microphone inputs and a 3.5 mm stereo line out.

The room's existing mount is reused, and the Cisco Room Navigator re-pairs over the board's 802.3af PoE Ethernet port with its 15.4 W budget. Board-only weight on the G3 is 40.5 kg.

Registration returns to the room's method, with on-premises support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 15 SU5 or later or native Cisco Expressway, from RoomOS June or RoomOS 26.7.2. Related equipment is in interactive displays and collaboration and presentation.

Key Features

  • No-radar spare designation — The ND build supplied as a service unit keeps a repaired room free of presence detection.
  • Radios retained — Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.2 remain on this variant; only the radar is omitted.
  • Microsoft Teams Cast documented — The G3 lists Teams Cast at up to 1920 x 1080 at 15 fps for Microsoft Teams Rooms, alongside Webex app, Miracast and AirPlay sharing.
  • Current-generation panel — An ADS LCD at 1:1200 contrast with a +/- 88 degree viewing angle at 350 cd/m2.
  • Existing room reused — The mount, Ethernet runs, Room Navigator and source terminations all stay in place through the swap.
  • Policy continuity — A documented ND part number evidences that a repair matched the configuration the room was approved under.

Typical Applications

  • Conference room — Rooms covered by a sensing policy are repaired without reintroducing presence detection.
  • Commercial meeting space — Employers operating under staff agreements keep those agreements intact.
  • Training room — Teaching spaces where attendance monitoring is sensitive stay as specified.
  • Government space — Public sector sites with rules on sensing replace like for like.
