Mounted directly under a commercial display, a video bar is either invisible or conspicuous, and finish is the difference. CS-BAR-C-UK9 is the Carbon Black Cisco Room Bar — one of the two finishes Cisco documents for this family alongside First Light — supplied as a standalone BYOD unit, which Cisco states means the Room Navigator touch panel is not included. The mounting design supports that intent. Cisco's consolidated mounting unit fits walls and screens, includes a gap bar to cover the space between the bar and the display, and allows installation above or underneath the screens; when fitted underneath, the unit can be turned upside down and the speaker grille removed and flipped separately so the finish stays aligned. The bar is 21 in. (53.4 cm) wide, 3.2 in. (8.2 cm) high and 2.5 in. (6.4 cm) deep at 3.3 lb (1.5 kg).

As a standalone unit it is specified for rooms driven from a laptop rather than a panel. USB-C passthrough delivers camera, microphone and speakers to a connected computer over one cable, carries content sharing on the same cable, and extends the display to 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps where the computer supports Alt-mode DisplayPort. A Room Navigator can be added later on the bar's dedicated PoE port.
