What is the Christie 118-133108-01 lens?
A 0.8–1.16:1 zoom lens with ultra high contrast optics on an ILS1 mount, for use with Christie M Series RGB projectors only. It is a short-throw zoom for rooms where the projector sits close to the screen but a fixed lens would be too inflexible.
Ultra high contrast is the point
UHC optics are built to preserve the black levels an RGB pure laser projector is capable of. On a standard lens, internal reflection and scatter lift the black floor — which wastes the contrast performance you paid for when specifying pure laser in the first place.
In a museum, visitor attraction or mapped installation where deep blacks are the deliverable, pairing a pure laser projector with a standard lens is the most common way the result disappoints.
Compatibility is restricted
This lens is specified for M Series RGB projectors only. It is not a general ILS1 lens, and fitting is not the same as functioning — confirm the chassis before ordering.
Throw distance
At 0.8–1.16:1 a 10-foot-wide image needs 8 to 11.6 feet of throw. Measure the distance available, divide by the image width you need, and check the result falls in that band.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this on a non-RGB projector?
No. Christie specifies it for M Series RGB projectors only.
What does ultra high contrast actually do?
It suppresses internal reflection and scatter that would otherwise lift the black floor, preserving the contrast an RGB pure laser projector can produce.
Is it worth the premium over a standard lens?
Where black level matters — museums, attractions, mapped surfaces, theatre — yes. In a lit conference room the room limits contrast before the lens does.
Can Creation Networks specify the right lens?
