When ultra short throw is the right answer
A room where the projector cannot sit far enough back. A ceiling structure that dictates the mounting position. A presenter who stands at the screen and would otherwise be lit from behind. At 0.38:1 a 10-foot image needs under 4 feet of throw, which puts the projector inside the room rather than at the rear of it.
Mounting precision
UST optics magnify positioning error — a small deviation in mount angle produces visible geometric distortion that would be negligible on a standard lens.
