What are the Christie Jazz Series Projector Lenses?
The Christie Jazz Series projector lenses are motorized 1DLP lenses for Christie Digital Jazz Series and Korus Series laser projectors. Three options are offered here: the 140-164102-01 ultra short throw lens with a 0.34–0.37:1 throw ratio, the 140-159106-01 short zoom at 0.9–1.3:1, and the 140-158105-01 zoom at 1.3–1.8:1. Together they cover everything from a projector mounted just a few feet from the screen to a mid-room ceiling mount, without changing the projector body.
What is included in each option?
140-164102-01 — 0.34–0.37:1 ultra short throw (UST) lens
140-159106-01 — 0.9–1.3:1 short zoom lens
140-158105-01 — 1.3–1.8:1 zoom lens
How do the Christie Jazz Series Projector Lenses work?
Each lens mounts to a compatible Christie 1DLP projector and is adjusted through the projector's motorized lens interface. Vertical and horizontal offset can be set from the projector rather than by hand, which makes alignment on a high-mounted projector much faster. Once the image is dialed in, the lens position can be saved to projector memory and recalled later.
The 140-164102-01 is a Z-shaped ultra short throw lens. It fills a large screen from very close range, which keeps presenters out of the light path and works in rooms where there's no space to set the projector back. Christie notes a 10% brightness loss with this lens, and it requires specific tools to install, so it should be fitted by a trained installer.
Throw distance depends on the projector the lens is paired with. Christie publishes exact throw formulas in its Projector Lens Calculator and in the lens throw ratio documents for each projector, and we confirm the lens choice against your room dimensions before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which lens do I need?
Divide the throw distance by the image width. A result between 0.34 and 0.37 points to the 140-164102-01 ultra short throw lens, between 0.9 and 1.3 to the 140-159106-01 short zoom, and between 1.3 and 1.8 to the 140-158105-01. Our team checks the math against your room before you order.
When should I choose the ultra short throw lens?
Choose the 140-164102-01 when the projector has to sit very close to the screen, such as rear-projection rooms, shallow stages, or spaces where presenters would otherwise walk through the image. Plan for Christie's stated 10% brightness loss when sizing the projector.
Does the throw ratio change on different projectors?
It can. Throw formulas vary by projector model and resolution. Christie's Projector Lens Calculator gives the exact figures for each projector.
Are these lenses motorized?
Yes. Offset is adjusted through the projector's motorized lens interface, and lens position can be saved to projector memory and recalled.
Are the lenses included with Jazz Series projectors?
Jazz and Korus Series projectors use interchangeable lenses, so the lens is chosen to fit the room and ordered alongside the projector. Browse our commercial projectors to pair a projector and lens.
