What is the Christie 144-136101-02 UST lens?
A fixed ultra short throw lens at 0.38:1 with high-brightness construction and ILS4 mount. It is the shortest throw in the ILS4 family and the one specified when a large image has to come from almost no distance — projection mapping onto a nearby surface, a confined control room, a museum vitrine.
What 0.38:1 means in practice
Image width divided into throw distance. At 0.38:1 a 10-foot-wide image needs under 4 feet of throw. That is close enough that the projector sits within the room rather than at the back of it, which changes what is possible in tight spaces.
It is a fixed lens, so there is no zoom adjustment. Image size is set entirely by distance, and that distance has to be right before the mount goes in.
High brightness construction
HB optics are built to pass the output of the brightest projectors without thermal degradation. On a high-lumen 3DLP system a standard lens becomes the limiting component; this one does not.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it zoom?
No. It is a fixed lens, so image size is determined entirely by throw distance. Get the mount position right first.
Which projectors take an ILS4 lens?
ILS4 is used across Christie's higher-brightness 3DLP ranges. Confirm your specific chassis before ordering — Creation Networks checks this as part of the quote.
What does high brightness mean here?
The optics are built to handle the thermal load of the brightest projectors without degrading. On a high-lumen system a standard lens becomes the weak point.
Can Creation Networks specify the right lens?
Yes. We calculate throw and image geometry against your room drawing before anything is ordered. Call 888-230-3661 or email sales@creationnetworks.net.
