Product Overview
The Chief CMA470 is a plenum-rated ceiling box that conceals and protects cabling at the column location of a Chief suspended ceiling kit. It gives integrators a code-conscious enclosure for routing cables through the ceiling in a clean, serviceable way. A hinged door provides easy access, and built-in knockouts accept standard conduit sizes. It is designed for use with the CMS440 suspended ceiling kit in commercial AV installations.
Product Description
The CMA470 covers the column location on a suspended ceiling kit so cables can route through the ceiling for a clean installation. A hinged door gives quick access for service, and multiple built-in knockouts (0.75", 1", and 1.5") let installers bring conduit and cabling in from different directions. Inside, there are two mounting locations for dual-gang surface-mount electrical boxes, which are not included, allowing power and low-voltage connections to be housed within the enclosure. The box is plenum-rated, making it suitable for installation in air-handling spaces where standard enclosures are not permitted. It is designed for use with the Chief CMS440 suspended ceiling kit and suits conference room, commercial meeting space, and digital signage ceiling installations.
