Running a projector mount into a finished ceiling usually means dealing with limited access above the drywall, and the Chief CMA165 junction box adapter is engineered to make that job quick and clean. With only a 4-inch hole cut in the ceiling, an installer can suspend the projector between the ceiling joists, an approach similar to mounting a ceiling fan. The kit includes a junction box mounting brace and a 5-inch round plate that adapts to 1.5" NPT extension columns, so it ties directly into standard Chief projector column hardware. The brace expands to fit either 16-inch or 24-inch joist spacing, covering the most common framing layouts in both new construction and retrofit work. The ceiling plate mates with a standard fan mounting junction box, letting integrators use familiar electrical-box practices.
