Product Overview
The ChamSys GeNetix GN5 is a compact multipurpose DMX network node with 5 RDM DMX ports and support for Timecode, MIDI, and 10Scene. It distributes lighting data over Art-Net and sACN, with each DMX port configurable as input, output, or fallback. Dual network ports allow PoE or mains power, and the node mounts standalone, on a truss via its M12 receiver, on a DIN rail, or in a 19-inch rack using the included rack ears. Configuration is handled from ChamSys consoles, the built-in web server, or the front-panel display and encoder.
Product Description
The GeNetix GN5 is a universal DMX-over-Ethernet interface in a half-width chassis, converting Art-Net and sACN network data to physical DMX and back across 5 RDM DMX ports. Each port is independently configurable as input, output, or fallback, with adjustable DMX timings covering refresh rate, break time, frame time, and MAB. Per-port merging supports HTP, LTP, lowest IP, and highest IP modes, and the node stores up to 10 user scenes recorded from incoming Art-Net or sACN data. DMX Fallback loops fixtures across two ports so the universe keeps running if a single cable breaks.

The GN5 carries LTC and MIDI ports that pass Timecode and MIDI notes to MagicQ systems over ChamNet, plus Art-Net timecode support, making it useful where the Timecode or MIDI source is away from the console. Connected to a MagicQ PC system over USB, the GN5 unlocks MagicQ PC Systems in Full Unlocked Mode as a DMX, Timecode, MIDI, and 10Scene gateway; used as an Art-Net or sACN node it unlocks up to 2 MagicQ instances. Power is supplied by PoE on Port 1 or the Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 line input at a maximum of 60 W. The node ships with DIN rail clip, 19-inch rack ears, USB cable, and Phoenix connectors.
