Product Overview
The Cambridge Sound Qt X 800 (part number 911.0216.900) is an 8-zone sound masking control module that serves as a masking generator, controller, third-octave band equalizer, and amplifier. It connects to AVB media networks, is powered over PoE+ with an optional 48 VDC input, and meets UL 2043 requirements for installation in air handling spaces. Each of its eight outputs carries its own non-correlated masking source for uniform coverage. The module is GSA eligible, TAA compliant, and manufactured in the U.S.A.
Product Description
The Qt X 800 controls sound masking emitters in direct-field installations, indirect (in-plenum) installations, or a combination of both, and is compatible with DynasoundPro loudspeakers. Two auxiliary audio inputs accept paging controller and background music feeds, and each of the eight amplified outputs can be independently adjusted for masking and aux audio levels and spectra. The module is fully compatible with Biamp's SageVue system management software and can be integrated into larger Qt X systems; when multiple controllers are deployed, audio inputs are shared across all controllers over the media network. Dual network ports separate media and control traffic, and a third-party control API is available over Ethernet. Auto-ramping, event scheduling, and a built-in clock with NTP support automate day-to-day operation, while a front-panel LCD with software panel lock provides local control and a contact closure integrates with fire alarm systems. A plenum mount bracket is included, with optional wall and rack mount brackets available. The unit is CE marked, ETL listed, RoHS compliant, and covered by Biamp's five-year warranty. Pair it with emitters from the Cambridge Sound collection.
Key Features

FAQ
What is the difference between the Qt X 800 and Qt X 800D?
Both are 8-zone control modules; the 800D adds Dante media networking, while the Qt X 800 uses AVB. Feature sets are otherwise comparable.
How is the Qt X 800 powered?
It runs on PoE+ from a network switch, with an optional 48 VDC input, which simplifies above-ceiling installation.
Can it be mounted in the ceiling plenum?
Yes. It meets UL 2043 requirements for air handling spaces and includes a plenum mount bracket; wall and rack mount brackets are optional.
Does it handle paging and music as well as masking?
Yes. Two auxiliary audio inputs distribute paging and background music, each independently adjustable per zone for level and spectrum.
Can it scale beyond eight zones?
Yes. Multiple Qt X controllers can be combined in one system with shared audio inputs over the media network, managed through Biamp SageVue.
