Product Overview

The Cambridge Sound Qt X 805 (part number 911.0085.900) is an eight-zone control module that functions as a sound masking generator, controller, third-octave band equalizer, and amplifier. It drives sound masking loudspeakers in direct-field, indirect (in-plenum), or combined installations, making it the Qt X platform's bridge to traditional speaker-based masking. Two auxiliary audio inputs distribute paging and background music alongside the masking signal. Each of the eight amplified outputs is independently adjustable for masking and aux levels and spectra.

Product Description

Unlike the emitter-focused Qt X 300 and 600, the Qt X 805 is built for amplified loudspeaker zones: it supports up to eight zones of amplified speakers matched with eight zones of pre-amp outputs, and it is compatible with DynasoundPro loudspeakers for in-plenum and upward-firing designs. Eight non-correlated sound masking sources are included — one per output — so adjacent zones never share an identical signal. An adjustable equalizer shapes masking and audio inputs per zone, while auto ramping and event scheduling adjust levels through the workday using the built-in clock with NTP support. The module participates in larger Qt X systems: it works with Biamp SageVue management software, and in multi-controller deployments audio inputs are shared across all controllers via the AVB media network (the 805D variant adds Dante). Dual network ports separate media and control traffic, with a front-panel LCD (software lockable) and a third-party control API over Ethernet. A contact closure integrates with fire alarm systems. A rack mount bracket is included, with an optional wall mount available. Combine the Qt X 805 with masking loudspeakers and controllers from the Cambridge Sound range.

Key Features

  • Eight amplified zones — eight independently adjustable speaker outputs matched with eight pre-amp output zones.
  • Direct and indirect masking — drives direct-field emitter-style and in-plenum loudspeaker installations, or a combination.
  • DynasoundPro compatible — pairs with DynasoundPro loudspeakers for plenum-based masking designs.
  • Eight non-correlated sources — one independent masking generator per output prevents correlation between zones.
  • Two audio inputs — distribute paging and background music with per-zone level and spectrum control.
  • AVB media network — share audio inputs across Qt X controllers in larger systems; SageVue compatible.
  • Scheduling and auto ramping — time-based masking adjustments with built-in NTP-synced clock.
  • Fire alarm integration — contact closure mutes masking during alarm events.
  • Compliance and warranty — CE marked, ETL listed, RoHS and TAA compliant, GSA eligible, made in the U.S.A., five-year warranty.

Typical Applications

  • Large open offices using in-plenum or hybrid loudspeaker masking designs
  • Healthcare campuses protecting patient conversations (HIPAA speech privacy)
  • Call centers requiring zoned masking, paging, and music
  • Law and financial offices safeguarding confidential discussions
  • Government facilities requiring TAA-compliant, GSA-eligible equipment

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Qt X 805 differ from the Qt X 300/600?
The 300 and 600 drive low-voltage Qt emitter runs, while the 805 provides eight amplified speaker outputs plus pre-amp outputs for traditional and in-plenum loudspeaker masking, including DynasoundPro speakers.

What coverage can it achieve?
Coverage depends on the loudspeaker type, layout, and ceiling architecture. Per configuration — confirm with Creation Networks for a design sized to your floor plan.

Does it handle paging and music?
Yes. Two auxiliary inputs distribute paging and background music with independent level and spectrum control on each output.

Can it join a larger Qt X system?
Yes. It networks with other Qt X controllers, shares audio inputs via AVB (the 805D adds Dante), and is managed through Biamp SageVue software.

What warranty applies?
The module carries the manufacturer's five-year warranty. Request a quote from Creation Networks for system design and pricing.
