Product Overview

The C2G CG29431 Psiber Pinger Plus is a handheld network IP tester designed for AV integrators, IT technicians, and facilities managers who need to verify LAN operation, confirm DHCP function, and troubleshoot IP connectivity at the job site. The Pinger Plus PINGs single IP addresses, lists, or ranges at full 10/100 auto-negotiate speeds, identifies 10/100/1000Base-TX link signals, and displays the MAC address for any tested IP. With storage for up to eight preprogrammed profiles, technicians can pre-load target IP configurations and run tests at remote locations without reconfiguration.

Product Description

C2G CG29431 Psiber Pinger Plus Network IP Tester

The Psiber Pinger Plus is built for commercial network verification workflows. Each of the eight storable profiles includes the tester's own IP address, gateway address, and one to eight destination IPs that can be PINGed individually or successively — ideal for verifying multiple endpoints in a conference room or digital signage installation in a single walk-through. The unit supports DHCP client capability to verify that the DHCP server is functioning and assigning correct addresses, and provides a port identification function that activates link lights on network switches for cable tracing.

Wire pair testing with reversed polarity identification helps catch wiring faults during rough-in inspection. A web browser interface handles unit setup and firmware upgrades without proprietary software, and an alphanumeric keyboard allows direct IP address entry in the field. The Pinger Plus can verify LAN operation from a remote location over the internet, extending its usefulness beyond local network testing to wide-area infrastructure verification.

Key Features

  • PING Single, List, or Range of IP Addresses — Tests connectivity to individual IPs, predefined lists, or sequential IP ranges at full 10/100 auto-negotiate speeds.
  • 8 Storable Test Profiles — Each profile stores the tester's IP, gateway, and up to 8 destination IPs for repeated testing at the same site without re-entry.
  • 10/100/1000Base-TX Link Identification — Identifies and displays the active link speed on the connected network port.
  • MAC Address Display — Shows the MAC address associated with any tested IP address for device identification and documentation.
  • DHCP Client Verification — Acts as a DHCP client to confirm the DHCP server is responding and issuing correct IP assignments.
  • Port Identification via Link Light Activation — Triggers link light activation on network switch ports to physically identify cable runs during installation.
  • Reversed Polarity Wire Pair Detection — Identifies reversed wire pair connections for structured cabling fault diagnosis.
  • Remote LAN Verification over Internet — Verifies LAN operation at a remote location over the internet, useful for confirming AV network connectivity post-installation.
  • Web Browser Interface — Unit setup and firmware upgrades are handled via standard web browser — no proprietary software required.
  • Alphanumeric Keyboard — Direct IP address entry on the device for fast field configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Pinger Plus test a range of IP addresses automatically?

Yes. The CG29431 can PING a sequential range of IP addresses automatically, in addition to testing individual IPs or stored lists. This is useful for sweeping a subnet to verify which endpoints are active after an AV-over-IP installation.

How many test profiles can be stored?

Up to 8 profiles. Each profile stores the tester's own IP, its gateway address, and 1 to 8 destination IPs. Profiles can be run individually or successively for efficient multi-endpoint testing.

Does the Pinger Plus work with Gigabit networks?

The Pinger Plus identifies 10/100/1000Base-TX link signals, confirming Gigabit link presence. PING tests operate at 10/100 auto-negotiate speeds.

Can this tester verify that a DHCP server is working correctly?

Yes. The unit operates as a DHCP client and verifies that the DHCP server is responding and issuing correct IP address assignments — useful for commissioning managed AV networks.

Is proprietary software required for setup or updates?

No. Unit configuration and firmware upgrades are handled through a standard web browser interface. No proprietary software installation is required.

What warranty does C2G provide on the CG29431?
