Product Overview
The C2G CG29400 Psiber Cable Tracker Network ID Complete Kit is a professional network cable identification and testing kit designed for network managers and AV technicians. The kit includes the CT10 toner/blinker unit, CT15 tone probe, CC2 carrying case, and an RJ45 jumper cord. It tests both active (live) and inactive (dark) cables, identifies hub and switch port assignments on active networks via a link light blink function, detects cable shorts, and traces cables through walls and patch panels without disrupting active LAN traffic.
Product Description
![]()
The CT10 toner/blinker addresses a key challenge in network management: standard tone generators disrupt active LAN traffic during identification. The CG29400 works with active cables by using a port ID function that blinks the link light on the connected switch or hub port — identifying cable-to-port assignments without injecting tones that interfere with live network traffic. Three different blink rates help distinguish multiple cables being identified simultaneously in high-density environments.
For inactive (dark) cables, the CT15 probe detects the tone signal through walls, panels, and conduit for standard cable tracing. A built-in continuity check identifies cable shorts. The CC2 carrying case keeps all components organized for transport to job sites. This kit is well suited for AV-over-IP system commissioning, network infrastructure verification, and post-installation cable management in commercial AV environments.
Key Features
- Active and Inactive Cable Testing — Works with live LAN cables without disrupting network traffic, and traces dark cables with standard tone.
- Port ID Link Light Blink Function — Identifies switch and hub port assignments on active networks by blinking the link light, no tone injection required.
- Three Blink Rates — Distinguishes multiple active cables being identified simultaneously in high-density patch environments.
- Built-In Continuity Check — Detects cable shorts without additional test equipment.
- Complete Kit — CT10 toner/blinker, CT15 tone probe, CC2 carrying case, and RJ45 jumper cord included.
- Portable Carrying Case — CC2 case keeps all components organized for job site deployment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this disrupt active LAN traffic during cable identification?
No. The port ID blink function identifies switch port assignments by blinking the link light without injecting tone signals that would disrupt active LAN traffic.
- Can it trace cables through walls?
Yes. For inactive (dark) cables, the CT15 tone probe traces the cable signal through walls, conduit, and patch panels.
- Is a tone probe included?
Yes. The CT15 tone probe is included in the complete kit along with the CT10 toner/blinker, CC2 case, and RJ45 jumper cord.
