Product Overview
The C2G CG29271 4K HDMI HDBaseT plus Serial RS232 over Cat Extender extends 4K HDMI video and RS232 serial control over a single Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6a cable — up to 230ft at 4K (4096x2160 at 30Hz, 4:4:4) and 330ft at 1080p. Designed for conference rooms, boardrooms, and control room installations where both video extension and bidirectional RS232 control must travel over the same structured cable run, this kit eliminates separate control cable infrastructure. Compatible with any operating system and display, it operates plug-and-play with no proprietary software required.
Product Description
The CG29271 transmitter accepts HDMI input and RS232 serial control from the room control system, combines them, and transmits over Cat5e/6/6a to the receiver at the display. The receiver outputs HDMI to the display and RS232 to the display's serial port for power, volume, and input control. At 4K 30Hz over Cat6a at 230ft, this kit covers most conference room and boardroom display runs where 4K 30Hz is acceptable and 60Hz is not required.
HDCP support ensures compatibility with protected content. The kit is OS-independent and does not require software drivers or configuration utilities for standard AV-over-Cat operation.
