Product Overview

The BrightSign XC4055 Windows 10 IoT player drives four HDMI displays from one fanless unit for organizations that run multi-screen signage software on Windows 10. It pairs an Intel Gen 11 Core i5 processor with 8GB of LPDDR4 memory, a 256GB SSD and an included Windows 10 IoT license. It is a quad HDMI Windows 10 IoT media player suited to extending an existing Windows 10 fleet into video walls, menu boards and multi-display lobbies without changing the software stack.

Product Description

XC4055-WIN10 is the Windows 10 IoT build of BrightSign's top XC5 model. BrightSign rates the XC4055 at twice the graphics power of the XC2055, and it lists hardware decode of four 4K60p streams at 10-bit with HDR10 and HLG. That makes it a strong match for Windows applications that span several displays, such as tiled menu boards, data dashboards or multi-screen lobby content.

The reason to pick the Windows 10 IoT version is consistency. If your signage client, kiosk application or display management agent is certified on Windows 10, this player lets you add four-output endpoints that match the image already running across your sites. The fanless chassis has built-in wall mounting, a locking 19V / 4.7A power supply and a 14-day real-time clock, and the 256GB SSD is installed in the internal M.2 PCIe slot.

Before specifying, confirm your control plan. Under Windows, GPIO, USB-C, IR, serial and 3.5 mm analog/SPDIF audio are not supported, only the power LED is active, and BrightSign's free remote player management is not available on XC5 Windows players. For a project that needs those features, the BrightSign XC4055 BrightSignOS player provides the full I/O set; for two-display sites, the BrightSign XC2055 is the dual-output option. You can compare the full BrightSign player range in our catalog.

Key Features

  • Four HDMI outputs — HDMI 1 (HDMI 2.1a) plus HDMI 2 to 4 (HDMI 2.0a) drive four displays from one player for video walls and multi-screen layouts.
  • Windows 10 IoT license included — The player ships licensed for Windows 10 IoT, so it can join an existing Windows 10 signage fleet without a separate OS purchase.
  • Intel Gen 11 Core i5 — BrightSign rates the XC4055 at twice the graphics power of the XC2055 for demanding multi-display Windows applications.
  • Quad 4K60p hardware decode — BrightSign lists hardware decode of four 4K60p streams at 10-bit, with HDR10 and HLG support.
  • 256GB SSD installed — The NVMe SSD in the internal M.2 PCIe slot stores content libraries and application data locally.
  • Application compatibility — Keeping Windows 10 IoT lets you reuse the signage client and settings already validated across your fleet.
  • Fanless commercial-grade chassis — No fan means quiet operation and fewer moving parts in enclosed or ceiling-adjacent installs.
  • Built-in wall mounting — Integrated mounting points simplify installation behind a video wall or inside an equipment closet.
  • Locking power connector — The 19V / 4.7A locking supply helps prevent accidental disconnection.
  • 5-year warranty — BrightSign lists a 5-year parts and labor warranty for Series 5 players purchased from BrightSign after January 1, 2025.

Typical Applications

  • Auditorium — Lobby and concourse video walls or multi-screen event information driven from one player.
  • Government space — Multi-display public information and wayfinding in agencies standardized on Windows 10 images.
  • All-hands room — Four-screen layouts for dashboards, company updates and event content.
  • House of worship — Lobby and foyer multi-display announcement walls running Windows signage software.
  • Commercial meeting space — Reception video walls and tiled KPI dashboards on an existing Windows 10 build.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose Windows 10 IoT instead of Windows 11 IoT for the XC4055?

Choose XC4055-WIN10 when your multi-screen software is validated on Windows 10 or you are matching an existing Windows 10 fleet. For new projects without that requirement, BrightSign also offers the XC4055 with Windows 11 IoT.

How many displays can it drive?

The XC4055 has four HDMI outputs: HDMI 1 is HDMI 2.1a and HDMI 2 to 4 are HDMI 2.0a. BrightSign lists this SKU as a 4 x 4K HDMI player.

Which XC5 ports are not available under Windows?

GPIO, USB-C, IR, serial and 3.5 mm analog/SPDIF audio are not supported under Windows, and only the power status LED is active. Use the BrightSignOS XC4055 if you need those interfaces.

Does BrightSign's free remote management work on this model?

No. BrightSign's free remote player management and controls are not available on XC5 Windows players. Manage the player through your Windows tools or signage CMS.

How is it installed?

The player is fanless with built-in wall mounting and a locking 19V / 4.7A power supply. Plan for an operating environment of 0 to 40 °C, particularly inside enclosed video wall frames.

What warranty is included?

BrightSign's datasheet lists an included 5-year parts and labor warranty for Series 5 players purchased from BrightSign after January 1, 2025. Accessories are excluded.

Can Creation Networks help design the display wall around it?

Yes. Our AV team can help match the player to your displays, mounts and software, and confirm whether Windows or BrightSignOS fits your control needs.
