Product Overview

The BrightSign CBL-IR RCVR 3.5MM is a 5 ft infrared receiver cable that plugs into the 3.5mm IR port on BrightSign HO, HD4, XD and XT players. It lets a player hidden behind a display or inside a kiosk receive commands from an IR remote such as the BrightSign RC1002. This BrightSign IR receiver cable is the standard way to put an IR eye where users can reach it.

Product Description

BrightSign players are often mounted out of sight, which blocks a remote's line of sight. The 5 ft cable runs the IR sensor out from the player's 3.5mm IR port to the bezel, the kiosk face or a wall plate, so a handheld remote works from the front of the screen. BrightSign's own documentation states that using an IR remote requires a USB or 3.5mm IR adapter, and this cable is that adapter for the 3.5mm port.

Current Series 5 players such as the BrightSign HD225, BrightSign XD235 and BrightSign XT245 all have a 3.5mm IR in/out port, and BrightSign states the port can receive common consumer-IR formats including NEC and RC5. In BrightSign Author, BrightAuthor:connected or BrightScript, incoming IR codes can trigger playlist changes, content selection or menu navigation.

Pair the cable with the BrightSign RC1002 remote for a supported remote-control setup, or order the RC1002-KIT, which includes both. See the BrightSign collection for compatible players and accessories.

Key Features

  • 5 ft reach — The cable moves the IR sensor up to 5 ft from the player so it can sit where the remote can see it.
  • 3.5mm IR port connection — It plugs into the 3.5mm IR port found on BrightSign HO, HD, XD and XT players.
  • Works with RC1002 remote — It provides the IR receiver that BrightSign says a remote needs on players with a 3.5mm IR port.
  • Common IR formats — BrightSign's 3.5mm IR port can receive consumer-IR formats including NEC and RC5.
  • Hidden-player installs — It suits players mounted behind displays, inside kiosks or in equipment racks.
