The Bogen PCMCPU Central Processor is the intelligence at the core of the PCM2000 modular paging system. As one of three essential modules in the PCM2000 architecture, the PCMCPU handles zone routing, station identification, and system-level control for up to 9 zones per unit. Installations requiring more than 9 zones simply add additional PCMCPU modules — each addressed with its own unique station ID via onboard DIP switches — until the system reaches its maximum capacity of 99 zones across 11 CPU modules. This modular approach allows AV integrators to right-size the initial installation and expand incrementally as facility requirements grow. The Program/Run switch on the PCMCPU separates the programming mode from live operation, preventing accidental configuration changes during active paging sessions. Station ID assignment via DIP switches eliminates the need for laptop-based programming tools during initial setup or field service visits.
