Product Overview
The Bluesound Professional BSP500 (Black) is a PoE-powered network active loudspeaker with an integrated BluOS streaming player, designed for indoor and outdoor commercial AV installations where a single ethernet cable carries both power and network audio. The 5.25-inch LF driver and 1-inch HF driver deliver 63Hz–23kHz response with a maximum SPL of 100dB using PoE++ powering. IP65-rated enclosure makes it suitable for covered outdoor commercial applications. It is a mid-size option between the compact BSP200 and the larger BSP1000, suited for spaces where the BSP200 may not project far enough and the BSP1000 would be oversized.

Product Description
Like all BSP speakers, the BSP500's embedded BluOS player eliminates a separate streaming source per zone. PoE+ or PoE++ from a standard managed network switch powers the speaker and delivers network audio via a single Cat5e/6 cable — removing the need for AC outlets at each speaker location. The enclosure features an IP65-rated design when the port plug is installed, making it viable for covered outdoor commercial deployments such as restaurant terraces, hotel poolside areas, and covered commercial walkways.
Two or more BSP500 units can be paired in stereo or deployed in multiple mono configurations across a space, and the speaker integrates into any BluOS ecosystem alongside the BSP1000, BSP200, and BSW150 subwoofer. An integral wall-mount bracket provides 90° swivel and 170° rotation for coverage optimization. Commercial music services — SoundMachine, Custom Channels, QSIC, SiriusXM for Business, and Tunify — are natively supported alongside Spotify, Tidal, and Qobuz.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the BSP500 compare to the BSP200 and BSP1000?
The BSP200 (3.5" driver, 23W) targets small zones and tight spaces with PoE+ powering. The BSP500 (5.25" driver, 100dB SPL) covers mid-size commercial spaces. The BSP1000 (6.5" driver, 100dB SPL, IP65) handles larger spaces and stronger output requirements. All three use the same BluOS platform and PoE powering architecture.
Does the BSP500 require a separate amplifier?
No. The BSP500 is a fully active speaker powered by PoE from the network switch. No separate amplifier is required.
Can the BSP500 be used outdoors?
Yes. With the included port plug installed, the BSP500 is rated IP65, making it appropriate for covered outdoor commercial applications. It should not be exposed to direct rainfall.
