Product Overview
The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini Optical to HDMI 12G converts a 12G-SDI signal to HDMI, or — with an optional optical fiber module — converts optical fiber signals to HDMI, up to DCI 4K (4096x2160) 60p. Built on Teranex video processing, it adds switchable XLR audio outputs, Ethernet control with PoE, and an intelligent thermal design for rack, desktop, or cable-duct installation. Note that the optical fiber module is not included (sold separately).
Product Description
The Teranex Mini Optical to HDMI 12G accepts a 12G-SDI input (auto-switching SD/HD/2K/4K) and outputs HDMI 2.0a up to DCI 4K 60p, connecting sources such as Blackmagic URSA cameras to an HDMI display. An optical fiber module can be installed in the rear SFP slot to convert fiber signals to HDMI; the module is not included — 3G and 6G modules are available (ADPT-3GBI/OPT and ADPT-6GBI/OPT). Audio can be output separately via full-size XLR connectors switchable between balanced analog and AES/EBU digital, with the right XLR configurable for timecode output. A rear Ethernet port allows remote management or PoE power, and a built-in 90–240V supply means you only need a standard IEC cable (sold separately) if not using PoE. The standard front panel has mini switches for instant settings changes and can be swapped for the optional Smart Panel with a spin knob, color LCD, and six buttons to view the conversion and monitor audio and timecode. Multiple units can be managed over Ethernet from Mac or Windows using the included Converter Utility, and a smart crossflow thermal design keeps units cool when rack-mounted side by side — up to three fit in an optional 1U 19" rack tray.
