Product Overview
The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini HDMI to SDI 12G converts an HDMI signal up to Full DCI 4K to 12G-SDI, with two independent SDI outputs for feeding multiple destinations. Built on Teranex video processing, it adds switchable XLR audio inputs, Ethernet control with PoE, and an intelligent thermal design for rack, desktop, or cable-duct installation. It's a professional HDMI-to-SDI 12G converter for broadcast, post, and live-event use.
Product Description
The Teranex Mini HDMI to SDI 12G accepts an HDMI 2.0 input up to Full DCI 4K (4096x2160p60) and routes it out over two independent 12G-SDI outputs at the matching resolution, auto-switching between SD, HD, 2K, and 4K with full re-clocking. You can run 4096x2160p approximately 70 ft over 6G-SDI cable, and lower-resolution signals such as 3G-SDI or HD-SDI considerably farther. Separate audio can be added via full-size XLR inputs switchable between balanced analog (2-channel) and AES/EBU digital (4-channel), with the right XLR configurable for timecode input. A rear Ethernet port allows remote management or PoE power, and a built-in 90–240V supply means you only need a standard IEC cable (sold separately) if not using PoE. The standard front panel has mini switches for instant settings changes and can be swapped for the optional Smart Panel with a spin knob, color LCD, and six buttons to view the conversion, monitor audio, and verify timecode and video standard. Multiple units can be managed over Ethernet from Mac or Windows using the included Converter Utility, and a smart crossflow thermal design keeps units cool when rack-mounted side by side — up to three fit in an optional 1U 19" rack tray. Note that HDMI inputs cannot capture from copy-protected (HDCP) sources.
