Product Overview
The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini Audio to SDI 12G embeds external audio into a 12G-SDI signal up to Full DCI 4K, accepting audio from XLR, RCA, or optical S/PDIF and outputting the combined signal over 12G-SDI. Built on Teranex video processing, it adds Ethernet control with PoE and an intelligent thermal design for rack, desktop, or cable-duct installation. It's a professional audio-to-SDI 12G embedder for adding external audio into an SDI workflow.
Product Description
The Teranex Mini Audio to SDI 12G accepts a 12G-SDI input (auto-switching SD/HD/2K/4K up to 4096x2160p) and embeds audio from a diverse input set: two channels of balanced analog or up to four channels of AES/EBU digital via full-size XLR connectors, two channels of unbalanced line-level analog via RCA, or optical S/PDIF via TOSLINK. The combined signal is output over 12G-SDI with full re-clocking, and the right XLR can be configured for timecode input. A rear Ethernet port allows remote management or PoE power, and a built-in 90–240V supply means you only need a standard IEC cable (sold separately) if not using PoE. The standard front panel has mini switches for instant settings changes and can be swapped for the optional Smart Panel with a spin knob, color LCD, and six buttons to view the conversion, monitor audio, and verify timecode and video standard. Multiple units can be managed over Ethernet from Mac or Windows using the included Converter Utility, and a smart crossflow thermal design keeps units cool when rack-mounted side by side — up to three fit in an optional 1U 19" rack tray.
