Product Overview

The Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K Plus is a compact, lightweight 4K live-production camera designed to pair with an ATEM Mini switcher. It combines a Micro Four Thirds camera and a 7" HDR viewfinder in one body, captures UHD up to 2160p60, and sends video over HDMI with tally, camera control, and record trigger built in. As an ATEM Mini studio camera with built-in DaVinci Resolve color and Blackmagic RAW recording, it brings cinematic imaging to multi-camera live production at an accessible price.

Product Description

The Studio Camera 4K Plus is built around a 4K sensor with Blackmagic generation 5 color science, 13 stops of dynamic range, and ISO from 100 up to 25,600 (native 400, high-base 3200) for clean images from studio lighting to dim environments. It records up to UHD 3840x2160p60 as Blackmagic RAW or ProRes/DNxHD to external USB-C disks, and a built-in DaVinci Resolve primary color corrector — controllable from a paired ATEM switcher — lets you grade in production. The Micro Four Thirds active mount works with a wide range of photographic lenses and supports optional Zoom and Focus Demand controllers for tripod-handle lens control. A bright 7" HDR touchscreen (1920x1200) shows status overlays, histogram, focus peaking, frame guides, and 3D LUTs, with physical knobs for brightness, contrast, iris, and focus peaking plus three assignable function buttons and a redesigned fold-down sun hood. HDMI output is designed for ATEM Mini, carrying return tally, camera control, and record trigger, and a PGM button switches the viewfinder to the switcher's program feed. The carbon-fiber-reinforced polycarbonate body includes built-in stereo microphones, a 3.5mm mic input, a headphone jack, two USB-C expansion ports, a large multi-color tally light, and Blackmagic OS, and is localized in 11 languages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which switcher is it designed for?
The ATEM Mini family — HDMI output carries return tally, camera control, and record trigger, so the switcher can control the camera.

What does it record, and to what?
Blackmagic RAW (and ProRes/DNxHD) up to UHD 2160p60, recorded to external USB-C disks.

What lenses can I use?
Micro Four Thirds lenses on an active mount; optional Zoom and Focus Demand controllers add tripod-handle lens control.

How does it differ from the Studio Camera 4K Pro?
The Plus has pared-down connections (HDMI rather than the Pro's additional SDI/12G and Ethernet options), relying on the ATEM Mini for control and output.
