Product Overview
The Blackmagic Design Audio to SDI Mini Converter embeds external audio into 3G/HD/SD-SDI sources up to 1080p60, accepting up to four channels of balanced analog or eight channels of AES/EBU digital audio via four 1/4" jacks. It includes a redundant SDI input for running a backup cable, useful in mission-critical, outdoor, or crowded-venue applications where cable damage is a risk.
Product Description
The Audio to SDI Mini Converter takes a 3G/HD/SD-SDI input (auto-detecting 3G/2K/HD/SD) and embeds audio from four 1/4" jacks — four channels of balanced analog or eight channels of AES/EBU digital — then outputs the combined signal over SDI with full re-clocking. A redundant SDI input automatically switches over if the main input is lost, protecting the feed in live and remote environments. Settings are controlled by built-in mini switches or over USB using free Mac/Windows software, which also handles firmware updates, and a 12V universal power supply with international socket adapters and a cable tie point is included.
