Product Overview

The Blackmagic Design Cloud Pod turns any USB-C disk into shared network storage, letting teams put camera media or flash disks on the network for multiple editors and colorists. It uses a 10G Ethernet network storage connection for fast file access even with many simultaneous users, and adds Dropbox live sync so files stay current across distributed locations. The compact, diskless design holds no internal storage and hosts two USB-C disks at once.

Product Description

The Cloud Pod is a network storage adapter for USB-C disks: connect a mechanical or flash USB-C drive and the Pod makes it available to everyone on the network. This is useful in film and television, where media recorded to affordable USB-C flash disks can be shared directly with an edit team rather than copied to each workstation; depending on the disk used, it can handle large Blackmagic RAW files up to 12K. Two USB-C ports let a single Pod host two disks at the same time, and USB-C is also used for settings and updates. The 10G Ethernet port connects to current 10G switches for high performance under load, while an HDMI monitor output shows a live status view with a storage map, speed graphs, sync state, active users, and power. Dropbox sync lets you place Pods in different locations so each site keeps a fast local copy, supporting low-latency collaboration across teams. A front status light indicates disk activity, and a 12V DC input runs the unit from the included supply or a battery for location use, making it a flexible option for portable media sharing for film and television.
