Product Overview

The Blackmagic Design DeckLink IP 100G is a PCIe capture and playback card that connects workstations and servers directly into SMPTE ST 2110 IP broadcast systems over 100 Gigabit Ethernet. As a SMPTE ST 2110 capture and playback card, it carries uncompressed broadcast-quality video, embedded audio, and ancillary data with ultra-low latency. It keeps the standard DeckLink feature set, so existing capture and playback software works without changes.

Product Description

The DeckLink IP 100G is the route to capture and playback directly in 2110 IP based broadcast infrastructure without separate gateways or converters. A 100GbE QSFP28 interface provides the bandwidth for multiple uncompressed video streams, supporting multiple 4K channels or a single 8K channel, and each channel can capture and play back simultaneously. This lets facilities build racks of servers generating broadcast graphics, virtual sets, or GPU-based AI image processing, all integrated into the IP plant — and DaVinci Resolve can run as a 2110 IP broadcast editing workstation. As a 100GbE IP broadcast capture card, it transports embedded multi-channel audio and SMPTE-compliant metadata and timecode alongside video. Compared with the 10GbE DeckLink IP HD, the 100G card moves from HD-class single/dual channels to multiple UHD channels and 8K, adds 12-bit alongside 10-bit, and targets high-end multi-camera 4K/8K IP production rather than standard HD. A high-speed PCIe connection supports current Mac, Windows, and Linux systems.

Key Features

  • SMPTE ST 2110 support — Integrates directly into modern IP broadcast systems with no gateway hardware.
  • 100GbE QSFP28 interface — High bandwidth for multiple uncompressed video streams.
  • Simultaneous capture and playback — Each channel ingests and outputs uncompressed video at the same time.
  • Multi-channel 4K or single 8K — Handles several UHD channels or one 8K channel over IP.
  • Embedded audio and ancillary data — Full audio plus SMPTE-compliant metadata and timecode transport.
  • Standard DeckLink compatibility — Existing DeckLink software works unchanged.
  • Cross-platform PCIe card — Works in macOS, Windows, and Linux workstations and servers.

Typical Applications

  • Broadcast studio — Capture, playback, graphics, and editing servers in a 2110 IP plant.
  • Government space — IP-based broadcast and production infrastructure for agencies moving to ST 2110.

Frequently Asked Questions

What broadcast standard does it use?
SMPTE ST 2110, carried over a 100 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP28 connection.

How many channels can it handle?
Multiple uncompressed 4K channels or a single 8K channel, with simultaneous capture and playback per channel.

Will my existing DeckLink software work?
Yes. It retains the standard DeckLink feature set, so existing capture/playback software works, and DaVinci Resolve can edit directly in a 2110 IP workflow.

How does it differ from the DeckLink IP HD?
The 100G uses a 100GbE interface for multiple UHD channels and 8K with 10/12-bit video, whereas the IP HD uses 10GbE for HD-class single/dual channels.
