Product Overview
The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Converter 3x3G converts three separate 3G-SDI devices to and from SMPTE 2110 IP video over a single 10G Ethernet connection. Each of the three channels has independent SDI inputs and outputs — with loop outputs and re-sync to the 2110 PTP clock — so it can bridge up to six different SDI devices into an IP infrastructure. As a rack-mount SDI-to-IP broadcast converter with a front-panel color LCD, it's built to integrate existing SDI equipment into ST 2110 IP systems.
Product Description
The 2110 IP Converter 3x3G provides three 3G-SDI inputs (each with a loop output) and three 3G-SDI outputs, with a 10G Ethernet connection carrying three input and three output channels simultaneously. The channels are independent, so each can run a different video standard at the same time, and every SDI input is re-synced to the 2110 PTP clock automatically; a reference output lets external SDI gear lock to the same clock. It conforms to SMPTE ST 2110 — including 2110-20 uncompressed video, 2110-21 traffic shaping, 2110-30 audio, and 2110-40 ancillary data — and supports multicast distribution. NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 support lets 2110 devices operate together as a large virtual router, with sources routed to destinations from the front panel or via an NMOS controller such as Videohub Smart Control. The rack-mountable design includes a color LCD for live monitoring of every channel, menus, routing, and network diagnostics, plus active cooling and redundant AC and PoE+ power. A Universal Rack Shelf holds up to three units side by side for nine channels in 1RU. It supports all SD and HD formats up to 1080p60 in 10-bit, with SDI re-clocking, and is remotely manageable over Ethernet using the free Blackmagic Converter Utility for macOS and Windows.
Key Features
- 3-channel SDI ↔ IP — Three independent 3G-SDI in/out channels converted to SMPTE 2110.
- 10G Ethernet — Carries three input and three output channels simultaneously.
- Loop outputs and re-sync — In-line SDI installation; inputs re-timed to the 2110 PTP clock.
- Reference output — Lock external SDI gear to the 2110 PTP clock.
- Front-panel LCD — Live monitoring, menus, IP routing, and network diagnostics.
- NMOS IS-04 / IS-05 — Virtual-router operation across 2110 IP devices.
- Full ST 2110 support — 2110-20/21/30/40 plus multicast distribution.
- Redundant power — Built-in 100–240V AC plus PoE+ over 10G Ethernet.
- Rack-mountable — Up to three units per Universal Rack Shelf (9 channels in 1RU).
- 10-bit, up to 1080p60 — All SD and HD standards with SDI re-clocking.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio — Integrate existing 3G-SDI gear into a SMPTE 2110 IP plant.
- Auditorium — Bridge SDI cameras and switchers into IP for large-venue production.
- Government space — Convert SDI proceedings feeds into a managed IP broadcast network.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many devices can it convert?
Three channels of 3G-SDI to/from 2110 IP — with independent inputs and outputs, it can connect up to six different SDI devices.
Can the channels run different formats at once?
Yes. Each channel is independent and switches instantly, so three different video standards can run simultaneously, up to 1080p60.
How is it powered and mounted?
It's rack-mountable with built-in AC plus redundant PoE+ over the 10G Ethernet port; up to three units fit in a Universal Rack Shelf for nine channels in 1RU.
Does it work as part of an IP router?
Yes — NMOS IS-04/IS-05 support lets it operate within a virtual router, routable from the front panel or an NMOS controller like Videohub Smart Control.
