The FA756 adapter kit provides a physical and electrical conversion between 9-pin DB9 (DE-9) female serial connectors and RJ45 female modular jacks. All 8 wires are connected in the adapter, supporting full serial signal passing including RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, and DCD handshaking lines in addition to transmit and receive data. This adapter is commonly used with console servers, terminal servers, and serial-to-Ethernet devices that terminate serial ports via RJ45 jacks. It allows legacy serial equipment with DB9 connectors to integrate into structured cabling environments using standard RJ45 patch cables.
