Product Overview
The Biamp Desono D8 is an 8-inch true coaxial ceiling loudspeaker, sold as a pair in a white finish. It offers focused dispersion, higher sensitivity, output, and greater low-frequency extension than the smaller D SERIES models. A real compression driver is concentrically arranged so the high frequencies emerge through the center of the low-frequency driver. The D8 is well suited to foreground music, paging, and fill applications in installed systems.
Product Description
The D8 uses a precisely tapered Tru-Phase high-frequency waveguide to provide consistent, wide dispersion up to 16 kHz, all but eliminating high-frequency narrowing, and centers the driver in the baffle for improved pattern control. Powerful magnetic structures and efficient coils ensure high output and more headroom per amplifier. A built-in autoformer allows 8-ohm or 70V/100V operation, selected by a front-face switch. Installation aids include spring-loaded Drop-Stop tabs, tile bridge support rails, snap-on C-ring support plates, and Twist-Assist face retainer tabs. The D8 is ETL listed to comply with UL1480, UL2043, and CSA60065 and is suitable for use in air-handling spaces.
