Product Description
The Desono DX-S5 delivers high efficiency, high output, and high intelligibility with low distortion in a compact enclosure that installs quickly and voices identically to the Desono DX ceiling loudspeakers. Its coaxially mounted low-frequency and high-frequency drivers produce uniform 130-degree conical coverage, and a built-in autoformer provides selectable 70V and 100V taps alongside an 8-ohm low-impedance input for flexible distributed audio design. The IP54 environmental rating, validated against salt mist, solar radiation, and chlorine exposure, suits the DX-S5-UB to covered outdoor walkways, patios, pool decks, and other demanding installations as well as indoor retail, hospitality, and presentation spaces. This UB configuration includes the ClickMount U-Bracket with an integrated ClickPlug gland nut, allowing low-profile mounting in vertical or horizontal orientation without moving the bracket, with theft- and tamper-resistant hardware for public spaces. A lever-actuated four-position terminal block with pass-through wiring simplifies daisy-chained runs, and a wattage/impedance selector switch can be set before the speaker is mounted. The DX-S5 operates as a passive loudspeaker with DSP and requires a 65 Hz high-pass filter for full-range performance.
