Product Overview

The Biamp BMA 360D is a Dante beamtracking ceiling microphone array built for conference rooms, boardrooms, and other commercial meeting spaces where a clean ceiling and consistent voice pickup matter. It drops into a standard 24-inch ceiling grid and delivers up to 12 independently directable beams for full-room coverage without tabletop or lavalier microphones. As a Dante-native ceiling tile microphone array, it integrates directly with any Dante-capable Biamp Tesira DSP, and its optional built-in amplifier lets a single tile handle both voice capture and program audio. This is the white finish; a matching black model and 600 mm (BMA 360D-I) grid version are also available.

Product Description

The BMA 360D combines beamtracking microphone pickup, configurable loudspeaker amplification, and Dante audio networking in a single ceiling-tile enclosure, which simplifies conference room AV installation and reduces the amount of hardware above and around the table. Integrators configure the array with Biamp's BMA Console software, placing and directing up to 12 beams from preset circle, rectangle, and semi-circle layouts that scale from small huddle rooms to large multi-purpose rooms. Each beam can be delivered to the DSP as an individual Dante channel for per-beam AEC, AGC, noise reduction, and EQ, or the array's on-board SmartMix can send a single processed channel per acoustic-echo-cancellation channel for simpler deployments. The single RJ-45 interface carries both Dante audio and a separate control/configuration connection, so one cable run supports the entire device. A built-in amplifier, configurable as four channels at 15 W or two bridged channels at 30 W, allows the same tile to drive nearby loudspeakers for voice reinforcement or conferencing playback. The array mounts via a VESA hole pattern and supports pole mounting, and Biamp offers dedicated recessed-mount and surface-mount kits for different ceiling types. An addressable LED indicator, controllable by color and brightness through network command strings, provides mute and status feedback to room occupants. For a full list of compatible microphones, mounts, and processors, browse the Biamp collection at Creation Networks. When the array will be recess-mounted in a 24-inch grid, pair it with the BMA 360D-RM recessed-mount kit.

Key Features

  • Dante audio networking — The array connects natively to any Dante-capable Biamp Tesira DSP, so beam audio and loudspeaker channels route across the existing AV network without additional interfaces.
  • Up to 12 directable beams — Integrators place and steer as many as twelve beams using preset and custom layouts to cover rooms ranging from small huddle spaces to large conference rooms.
  • Beamtracking pickup with flexible processing — Beams can be sent individually for per-beam AEC, AGC, noise reduction, and EQ in the DSP, or mixed on-board with SmartMix for simpler rooms.
  • Built-in configurable amplifier — The integrated amplifier operates as four channels of 15 W or two bridged channels of 30 W to drive loudspeakers directly from the ceiling tile.
  • Single-cable RJ-45 connection — One RJ-45 interface carries Dante audio plus a separate control connection, reducing cabling in the ceiling.
  • PoE powered — The array runs on PoE+ (30 W) as a microphone only, or PoE++ (up to 90 W) when driving loudspeakers, avoiding a local power supply at the tile.
  • Addressable status LED — Color and brightness are controllable through network command strings for clear mute and system-state feedback.
  • Standard 24-inch ceiling grid fit — The tile installs in a standard North American 24-inch grid; the BMA 360D-I covers 600 mm grids.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which processors is the BMA 360D compatible with?
It works with any Dante-capable Biamp Tesira system, including TesiraFORTÉ X and Tesira Server-IO fitted with a DAN-1 card. AVB-only Tesira systems can bring it in through a TesiraCONNECT TC-5D.

How is the microphone installed in the ceiling?
The array drops into a standard 24-inch ceiling grid and includes a VESA hole pattern for pole mounting. Biamp offers dedicated recessed-mount and surface-mount kits for different ceiling constructions.

What are the PoE requirements?
As a microphone only it requires PoE+ (about 30 W). When the built-in amplifier drives loudspeakers, budget PoE++ up to 90 W and use a switch or injector rated accordingly.

Can it drive loudspeakers as well as capture audio?
Yes. The integrated amplifier is configurable as four channels of 15 W or two bridged channels of 30 W, so one tile can handle both microphone pickup and program or voice-reinforcement playback.

How does it fit into a larger AV system?
Beam audio is delivered over Dante and routed in Dante Controller to the DSP, where per-beam or SmartMix processing is applied. Loudspeaker channels are sent from the DSP back to the array over the same network.

Does it come with a warranty and support?
Biamp products are backed by manufacturer warranty and technical support. Contact Creation Networks for current warranty terms and integration assistance.
