Product Overview

The Biamp Tesira EIC-4 is a 4-channel expander input card for the Tesira EX-MOD modular expander. It is the card integrators install when a remote zone needs local mic/line inputs feeding a networked Tesira system. With a 0–66 dB gain range and switchable phantom power, this Tesira expander input card accepts audio from virtually any source at the point of use and networks it back to the DSP over AVB. The EIC-4 is one of several cards that can populate an EX-MOD chassis.

Product Description

Each EIC-4 provides four channels of balanced mic or line level audio input on plug-in barrier strip connectors, and it is designed exclusively for the Tesira EX-MOD expander. The EX-MOD holds up to three cards in any combination for a maximum of 12 channels and communicates with the Tesira AVB network for audio, configuration, and control. This architecture suits AV system integration projects where microphones and sources sit far from the main equipment rack, letting the integrator place inputs locally rather than running long analog cable back to the DSP. Software control of each input includes gain with clip indicator, +48V phantom power, mute, level, and signal invert, across a 0–66 dB gain range in 6 dB steps. Analog-to-digital conversion is 24-bit at a 48 kHz sampling rate, and a premium preamp keeps the sound clean. The card carries Biamp's 5-year warranty. Pair it with the Tesira EEC-4 AEC input card and the Tesira EIOC-4 I/O card for the EX-MOD, or browse the full Biamp collection.

Key Features

  • Four Balanced Mic/Line Inputs — The card provides four channels of balanced mic or line level input on plug-in barrier strip connectors.
  • Built for EX-MOD — The EIC-4 is designed exclusively for the Tesira EX-MOD expander and can be combined with other EX-MOD cards.
  • Remote Placement — The card lets sources connect locally in a remote zone while feeding the DSP over the Tesira AVB network.
  • Wide Gain Range — A 0–66 dB gain range in 6 dB steps accepts input from low-level microphones to line sources.
  • Switchable Phantom Power — Each input provides +48 VDC phantom power at 7 mA for condenser microphones.
  • Full Input Control — Software control includes gain with clip indicator, mute, level, and signal invert on every channel.
  • 24-bit / 48 kHz Conversion — Analog-to-digital conversion is 24-bit at a 48 kHz sampling rate.
  • 5-Year Warranty — The EIC-4 is covered by Biamp Systems' 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which device accepts the EIC-4?
The EIC-4 is designed exclusively for the Tesira EX-MOD expander, which holds up to three cards for a maximum of 12 channels.

How does the EX-MOD connect to the Tesira system?
The EX-MOD communicates with the Tesira AVB network for audio, configuration, and control.

Can it accept both microphone and line sources?
Yes. A 0–66 dB gain range in 6 dB steps accepts everything from low-output microphones to line-level sources.

Does it supply phantom power?
Yes. Each input provides switchable +48 VDC phantom power at 7 mA for condenser microphones.

Why choose an expander input card over a server input card?
An EX-MOD with EIC-4 cards lets you place inputs near remote sources and network them back to the DSP, reducing long analog cable runs.

What is the audio conversion quality?
Analog-to-digital conversion is 24-bit at a 48 kHz sampling rate.

What warranty applies?
Biamp covers the EIC-4 with a 5-year warranty.
