Barco UDM-W15 15,000-lumen WUXGA 3-chip DLP large venue laser projector

Product Overview

The Barco UDM-W15 large venue projector targets permanent installations and live events that need 15,000-lumen WUXGA projection with the longest service interval in the UDM family — auditoriums, houses of worship, broadcast sets, and staging. This 3-chip DLP laser projector pairs native WUXGA resolution with a laser phosphor light source rated for 30,000 hours, eliminating lamp changes for years of operation. At 48 kg it keeps rigging and freight cost low. Barco Pulse electronics and the Insights Management Suite make it a connected, remotely managed projector for multi-site fleets.

Product Description

The UDM-W15 (R9409072-B) uses three 0.96″ DMD chips and a laser phosphor engine to deliver 14,500 center lumens (15,000 ISO) at native WUXGA 1,920 × 1,200, with a color spectrum that exceeds the Rec. 709 space and 20,000:1 dynamic contrast. Its laser phosphor source is rated for 30,000 hours — the longest in the UDM line — making it well suited to continuous, low-maintenance installations. It accepts input up to 4K, and Barco Single Step Processing performs warping, scaling, and processing in one pass for low latency and reduced dark time, with ScenergiX for edge-blended arrays. The modular, sealed-core design supports field serviceability and 360° orientation. Integrated 3G connectivity and the Insights dashboard provide remote brightness control, log access, and fleet monitoring. It ships as a body only — Barco TLD+ lenses are selected separately, and the full TLD+ range is stocked on creationnetworks.net.

Key Features

  • 15,000-lumen 3-chip DLP — 14,500 center / 15,000 ISO lumens for large screens.
  • Native WUXGA resolution — 1,920 × 1,200 imaging with input support up to 4K.
  • 30,000-hour laser phosphor source — The longest-life source in the UDM family for low-maintenance installs.
  • Pulse Single Step Processing — Warp, scale, and process in one step for low latency and reduced dark time.
  • FLEX² brightness and resolution locking — Lock output per show for predictable performance.
  • ScenergiX edge blending — Horizontal and vertical blending with embedded warp for multi-projector arrays.
  • Insights Management Suite — Cloud dashboard, remote log access, and integrated 3G for fleet monitoring.
  • 360° orientation and sealed DLP core — Mount in any orientation with fast field serviceability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the UDM-W15 include a lens?

No. It ships as a body only. Select a Barco TLD+ lens by throw ratio to match your throw distance — the full TLD+ range is stocked on creationnetworks.net.

How does it integrate into an existing AV system?

The UDM Pulse platform provides HDBaseT, HDMI 2.0 (HDCP 2.2, HDR10), DisplayPort 1.2, and Quad 3G/12G SDI inputs, with control over RS232, Ethernet/RJ-45, IR, DMX 512, and the integrated web server.

What are the installation requirements?

It supports 360° orientation for ceiling, truss, or floor-stack mounting and draws up to 1,550 W, which should be factored into power and HVAC planning.

What makes the UDM-W15 different from the brighter UDM models?

It trades peak brightness for the longest laser phosphor life in the family at 30,000 hours, which lowers long-term maintenance for continuous installations.

What warranty and support does it carry?

The UDM-W15 carries a 3-year Barco warranty, with optional Essential Care extensions. Creation Networks supports configuration, lens selection, and post-sale technical questions — contact sales@creationnetworks.net.
