The Barco EX is an Event Master expansion unit that adds input and output capacity to E2 and S3-4K processors for live events, rental staging and large multi-screen productions. It is an affordable 4K60p scaler with the same processing power as four ImagePROs, packaged in a compact 1RU chassis. By linking it to a master Event Master processor, integrators expand the scaling and switching power of the whole system without adding another full-sized processing chassis. It also extends I/O for applications up to 100 meters away while simplifying on-site cabling.

Product Description

The EX (R9004776B) carries two card slots that can each be configured as input or output, supporting up to eight inputs or up to eight outputs using any of the Event Master modular I/O cards. As shown in the product gallery, a single EX can provide a 4x4 scaling matrix of HD sources, and two units can be linked to create an 8x8 matrix for standalone operation. When linked to a master processor, an E2 supports up to eight EX chassis (32 inputs and 32 outputs of HD) and an S3-4K supports up to four (16 inputs and 16 outputs). The EX shares its modular cards and software with the rest of the Event Master family, simplifying field service and configuration, and it can replace up to eight fiber extenders with a single cable and one chassis. Scaled aux outputs are user-definable up to 8x 2048x1200@60 or 2x 4K@60.
