This ILD optic is a motorized zoom lens, so image size and focus are adjustable from the projector controls. The 0.8-1.0:1 range fits front-projection layouts where the projector is fairly close to the screen but a fixed UST optic would be too aggressive. For tighter geometry, integrators step down to the ILD lens 0.65-0.8:1; for longer rooms they move up to the ILD lens 1.0-1.4:1.
