Product Overview

The AVPro Edge MXNet Evolution II AV-over-IP Encoder with Dante Encoding (AC-MXNET-1G-AVDM-EV2) accepts HDMI input, encodes video for distribution over the MXNet EV2 AV-over-IP network, and simultaneously outputs audio as a Dante network audio stream. It includes an HDMI loop output for local monitoring and features USB, IR, RS-232, RJ45, and fiber connections for integration with control systems and fiber-based network infrastructure. The encoder is designed exclusively for MXNet Evolution II deployments and is not compatible with V1 MXNet systems. It pairs directly with the AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W Dante decoder to deliver a complete AV-over-IP and Dante audio distribution system.

Product Description

Facilities running both a MXNet Evolution II video distribution system and a Dante audio network need a way to ingest sources into both simultaneously. The AC-MXNET-1G-AVDM-EV2 handles this at the encoder stage: HDMI video from the source is encoded and streamed over the EV2 IP network, while the audio is simultaneously output as a Dante stream to any Dante-enabled receiver on the network. This eliminates the need for a separate audio breakout device or Dante interface at each source location.

The HDMI loop output allows a local display or confidence monitor to be driven directly from the encoder without disrupting the network stream. The combination of RJ45 and fiber network ports provides flexibility for installations where the encoder must connect over longer distances using fiber infrastructure. RS-232, IR, and USB ports extend source-device control and USB peripheral sharing across the network.

Key Features

  • Integrated Dante Audio Encoding — Outputs audio directly to the Dante network from the HDMI source signal, removing the need for a separate audio interface at the source location.
  • HDMI Input with Loop Output — Accepts a standard HDMI source and provides a loop-through HDMI output for a local confidence monitor or display.
  • Dual Network Interfaces (RJ45 + Fiber) — Supports both copper 1G Ethernet and fiber connections, providing flexibility for installations requiring long cable runs.
  • RS-232, IR, and USB Extension — Extends source-device control signals and USB peripherals across the MXNet EV2 network to remote locations.
  • PoE Powered — Powered via the network switch, eliminating the need for a local power supply at the encoder location.
  • MXNet Evolution II Native — Fully integrated into the EV2 ecosystem; not compatible with V1 MXNet systems.
  • Pairs with Dante Decoder — Designed to work with the AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W decoder for end-to-end AV-over-IP and Dante audio distribution.
  • Scalable Deployment — Fits into large MXNet EV2 systems with many encoder and decoder endpoints managed centrally.

Typical Applications

  • University lecture halls and auditoriums distributing HDMI sources across MXNet EV2 while feeding Dante-based audio systems
  • Houses of worship with video distribution to overflow rooms and Dante sound reinforcement systems
  • Corporate AV-over-IP systems requiring both video routing and professional audio distribution from shared source locations
  • Broadcast and production facilities integrating IP video with Dante audio workflows
  • Convention centers and large venues with mixed MXNet EV2 and Dante infrastructure

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this encoder require a separate device to output Dante audio?
No. The AC-MXNET-1G-AVDM-EV2 encodes the audio from the HDMI source directly as a Dante stream. No additional Dante interface is required at the encoder location.
Is this encoder compatible with V1 MXNet systems?
No. This product is designed exclusively for MXNet Evolution II (EV2) deployments and cannot be used with V1 MXNet infrastructure.
What decoder should be used with this encoder to maintain Dante audio end-to-end?
The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W (MXNet Evolution II Decoder with Dante Encoding) is the recommended decoder, as it outputs Dante audio at the display endpoint to complete the end-to-end Dante distribution.
Can the fiber port replace the RJ45 connection, or is it supplemental?
The fiber port is an additional network connection option. It allows the encoder to connect over fiber infrastructure for longer runs, while the RJ45 port provides standard copper Ethernet connectivity.
Does the HDMI loop output affect network streaming performance?
No. The HDMI loop output is a pass-through for local monitoring only and does not impact the quality or latency of the AV-over-IP stream on the network.
